Huh, so I guess it's the interplay between the normal world and the Isekai world that is the main selling point...

Because the current society is emotionally and socially depressed to the point that works like these exist to fullfill their desires to make themselves feel better when they read it.

From the author of Shinka no Mi/Fruit of Evolution.

I've actually read some of the source novels for this, back before it was licensed.
The author's afterwords at the end of each volume basically amount to them admitting they are just making up the story as they go along with no real endgame in mind. ("...I found myself amazed at the turn of events (I wrote)...I have no idea what will happen next, but I hope you can look forward to it.")

Which kind of confirms why some of the developments sort of feel like they were just made up on the fly according to the authors' whims (suddenly this happened), imo.

That said, one thing I do like is

Spoiler for spoiler novel:

You know, I thought the concept of bringing stuff back from Isekai was interesting, but now that I know this there's no way I'm watching it.

Thanks, pal. Saved me a few hours.

The only things I remember about this are the light novel artwork and those black tights the girl was wearing.

The tights were memorable.

Well, at least they are honest about it lol. There are a lot of storytelling possibilities with an isekai that moves back and forth, bringing items and such. Could be interesting. I think I may have read the manga for this, it sounds kinda familiar. So many isekai though that it runs together in my head lol.

Speaking of back and forth, I liked how in the manhwa "Her Summon" the guy brings normal things from our world into the other, and when there they have super OP effects heh.

Matsuoka is back to his usual typecast, and now he's roped in Akarin and Kaori Maeda .

I kinda thought I was watching an ugly bastard hentai for the first half of episode 1.

I liked what I read of the manga and looked into the LN a bit as well; the visual style is pretty distinct and translates well into anime so far. I'm a sucker for the fatty to hotty premise and like the notion of going back and forth between worlds so I'll probably stick with this until it goes completely off the rails.

I like the guy but I can't tune out Kirito (and/or Bell) in every role he does.

So far no particular problem with story, though I do think at least some pop ups should be translated. Like where money he cash out came from? Killing monster? Selling dropped items? Just by comming? Similiarly where clothes came from, did they belonged sage or maybe just sages house made it on spot?

It reminded me of Death March to a Parallel World Rhapsody in that he couldn't just stick to one (or even a few) OP power, but had to have incredible resources fall in his lap too for no reason. But somehow worse.

Oh this, Yuuya Tenjou as the MC.

There's a Web, Light Novel, and Manga about this. The manga was released monthly.

I'll be curious how he'll develop.

True, but I did notice the 1st episode is full of slideshow scenes (similar to Record of Ragnarock's anime on Netflix). The major difference is as you said, the slides here do look nicer and more polished compared to Ragnarock's.

Either the production is saving budget/skill for more intense scenes, or this really is as far as it can go. Esp. when you compare with other titles like Tensei Kizoku; being able to watch the characters bouncing animatedly around the place.

Supposed to be monthly, but I've observed the manga chapters ended up releasing with a gap of several months between them. Not sure if publisher issue or if artist unable to make deadlines.

so kind of like the guy version of '80k gold coins in another world'

What the hell is the point of starting him off as a ugly fat guy when he just converts into a hot guy anyway. If its just for other ugly fat people to self-insert, its just really annoying to me.

Author came up with an explanation for MC starting of as fat around Vol 12, although I don't think the anime will be able to get to that point assuming this is just 1 cour.

Or maybe the artist did do it and the raw wasn't uploaded by the publishers. Some series were already ahead, but maybe the publishers either forgot to upload it on the internet or not enough readers devoted to it.
