I just have to agree with Yurippe being badly voiced in this dub. But the others were ok in their own way.

I dunno I found a bit more issue with Otanashi's than Yurippe's tbh[from the first episode anyways ], while her voice is different from the original, I think it kind of fits her somehow actually. The rest seemed ok though I'd agree.

I don't really mind Yurippe's voice. As said above, it's different but not bad. I do, however, have a few complaints.

1) Voices don't match audio flaps. And I don't mean "Oh, they're slightly mismatched." I mean they talk when their mouths aren't moving and their mouths are still moving when they aren't talking. The latter isn't too bad, since even the Japanese does that. The former, however, annoys me.

2) Pronounce names properly, damn it! It's not pronounced "rip", it's "reap" (in regards to Yurippe)!

3) Why did they go with "obliterate" over "disappear"? It sounds ridiculous and doesn't make as much sense.

^ this bothered me

as well as:

1. changing "Like-Hell-I'm-Dead Battlefront" to "I'm Not Dead Yet Battlefront"

2. changing "Afterlife Battlefront" (which is awesome) to "Underworld Battlefront" (which is lame)

the only voice i didn't really like was kanade's

i was disappointed

by the way, did you guys hear yui?

Ooyama's the manliest of them all, that's why.
Actually I think they didn't want to give a super-girly voice to a guy who's supposed to be "normal".

By the way, how did they handle TK? Did they keep his lines as in the original?

TK isn't as noticeable or unique as he would be if he were speaking a different language.

I'm having issues with Hinata's voice. I can tolerate Ooyama's and Yuri's though

I reckon 95% of people's concerns here are because they watched the Japanese audiotrack, and are therefore used to it. Thus, anything after that clashes with their familiarity. That's why I'm gonna be watching the show for the first time with the English audio track as an experiment.

But yeah, it is a bit lax on lip flaps.

Both the DVD and Bluray will have the Japanese audio track.

I think the laxness on lip flaps is a good thing.

Something like "I'd rather they be lax on lip flaps and act freely, then try overly hard to match them, and therefore make the acting stiff and forced?" I thought something like that myself.

Not forcing it is good, but you also can't completely ignore them. When they're clearly not moving (for multiple seconds, not just for a word or two), the character shouldn't have a voice coming out.

Underworld battlefront and Shinna saying this is so stupid
The obliterate part is jot that bad for me
Kanade got a good voice but Yuri :S
I "bought" chapter one on itunes just because it was for free
I want the BD for the subs not for the dubbing I downloaded patched dvds with spanish subs
And I was waiting to get them originals
Next time I go to the US I'll buy the BD

lol Dub Yurippe has the same voice as Dub Ayu.

I can't take it seriously anymore.

What? Ayu and Yuri have the same VA?

I knew there was a certain...spunk to the vocals, but I couldn't make it out.

And Kanade...sounds exactly the same.

I don't care what anyone says I love the dub. Although it is going to take some time getting used to Greg Ares voice Naoi though. I love Hinata's voice since David Matranga voices him and I love his voice alot. xD

Also they pronounced Yurippe wrong lol U-RIP-E.

I think that they did that on purpose. So that it's easier on the English tongue and just in case there are some of the audience members are inexperience to anime.

Yurippe: you•rip'•bee
Naoi: nay•oy'
Ooyama: oo•yaw'•ma
Iwasawa: ee•wa•saw'•wa

There should be plenty of others
