I would say so. Not sure if it's actually her or a manifestation of the spirit itself but it was definitely out to get him. Now the question is why didn't it finish the job? He's on the ropes, so was the beating a warning, or did it get scared off somehow? Perhaps when Senjogahara showed up it fled?

That can't be as bad as that one US prime time soap opera where the main character got shot in the season finale and all of america (and maybe canada) had to wait the whole summer (and an extra 3 weeks due to budget negotiations with the network).
Anyways, this is actually my first time hearing Chiwa Satou in something, and looking at her filmography this seems like the most unique role she's in (aside from maybe Poni Poni Dash). |

Anyway, great episode as always. That last minute or two was certainly shocking to say the least. As others have said, this episode brings back the feel of episode 1 -- Senjougahara stationery works, the dark feeling of mystery, and a good action scene to boot! Too bad we'd have to wait 2 weeks for the continuation... And on the topic of cut internal monologues: I've always wondered why SHAFT isn't abusing their unique style to include all of them. I mean, the black screens could easily be substituted by a wall of text detailing Araragi's internal response to the situation. Oh well, maybe that's what the DVDs are for... And of course, obligatory ending illustration for episode 6: (click to enlarge) Is this a reference to something?

Then again, I like Hachikuji and Kanbaru more than Senjougahara so... |

After watching episode 6, I have to say Senjogahara is a 'freak' with twisted social comprehenssion and sadistic nature like injuring people who gets too personal with her. She can only be handled by another freak who has exceptional superpower. By reason Araragi is also a 'freak' due to his inhuman self-regenerating capability, though his social life and personality seems normal.
So if you pair Freak x Freak then you'll be having a rather perfect match and unique chemistry like we're seeing right now.Araragi's self-regenerating ability made him oddly compatible with Senjogahara's kinda twisted and sadistic nature. He's basically indestructible should Senjogahara's destructive nature arise and raid it upon our poor Araragi. They're a perfect couple....... Er......yeah feels like watching Twighlight Zone all over again. And Negi > Araragi through harem numbers and sheer badassery. |
