Well, that was very silly and completely ridiculous, but for me it falls into that area of ridiculous and silly that could be worth watching. I liked it.

Episode 1

This Japan is screwed. So very fucking screwed. The only reason they're even surviving is because the Rougai party is in majority in the Diet. How on earth can a country survive if their Parliament members are elected based on their ability to reach the top of a god damn hill?! Wtf is up with this Heroine party? Wtf is Sachie even thinking? How old is Natsuki? She looks like a college student at best, but I think she's younger than that. And she's one hell of a klutz under pressure. Can't wait to see Japan crumble after the Heroine party takes the majority in the Diet.

Natsuki's voice acting was pretty off. Didn't feel good at all. The character designs are also kinda weird, especially Natsuki's ginormous mouth and the long faces in general.

The concept is retarded as fuck, but that's what makes this fun lol. Gonna stick around to see this country fall apart when the idols have to make laws and shit.

"Hey Natsuki, what's that behind you? *slams the fuck out of you in front of the audience*" Moshimoshi... is this the ambulance?
"Right! Left! Right! Left! *launches her head towards wall and bleeds heavily* It doesn't hurt." HELLOMOSHI IS THIS THE AMBULANCE?!

This anime is mental, but I love it because it doesn't take itself seriously at all. Japan is done for at any rate. See you next episode. Also the dancing is surprisingly good, the CG is mostly seamless and the song is alright, it gave me LL vibes during some parts. And the overall feel of the episode reminds me a bit of Aikatsu and Pripara as well.

Well, this is pretty fun for a first episode. Having a super-silly premise mostly works in many anime (particularly of light-hearted nature) and this one has potential. The most outstanding thing about it is that it's not pretending to take itself seriously, it's self-aware and everything were taken up to eleven. The artstyle is very pleasing, the studio behind it poured a maximum amount of effort into the visuals and it's done consistently. I'm interested to see the other parties that ensue and given most dietwoman come from various prefectures of Japan, that would be a massive ride to take on.

This anime is ridiculous, but ridiculous in a good way. It definitely has me wanting more.

The first episode of this was a lot of fun. Vibrant visuals, and crisp comedy!

Clearly the show's core premise is very silly, but the show is self-aware of that, and so is having fun with it!

On the whole, it's an amusing lighthearted show that pokes a little fun at idol anime and its tropes, but also embraces certain aspects of idol anime that fans of it tend to love.

It remains to be seen if this style of comedy will hold up well for a full show, but if it does, I think this is precisely what the world of idol anime could use right now. It was probably time for something more lighthearted and more pure fun.

Idols for politicians? I'm... not sure what to say. Well, TV hosts can be presidents, so I guess it might not be as silly as it sounds.
I'm curious how it is going to turn out, and there isn't that much to watch today anyways.

It looks like the dancing scenes will be drawing + CG? I personally prefer full art though.

On what grounds are people saying this show is self aware? Elections of unsuitable candidates through empty emotional appeal (show here in mind-control terms) is a real, bad thing, shown here as a good thing. Portraying young female politicians uncritically as attractive airheads is borderline sexist and agist. This show is very nearly anti-democracy.

However, I'd like to see the girls resist manipulation by older politicians, even their 'manager'. Integrity and honesty meaning more than intelligence is a reasonable message. Onimaru's story was alright, and the 'aren't you a villain' bit was classic. Though the country folk waving glowsticks shows yet again how horribly generic idols in anime are.

There's certain pieces of dialogue here and there that gives the show a tongue-in-cheek vibe to me. A good example is the straight-man character that's directly assisting the female leader. I think the straight-man is voicing some of the criticisms and complaints that most viewers would if these scenarios were playing out in real life. The show doesn't really have good answers to give him, other than absurd situations piling up on absurd situations somehow leading to good results for our protagonists. The implication I see here is that this show isn't taking itself all that seriously. I think the show is self-aware in how ridiculous its content is, so the show is just having fun with it, really. I doubt the show is seriously advocating for the creation of a Heroine political party that's entirely made up of J-Pop idols.

Based on Episode 1, anyway, I think the show is aiming at light lampooning of idol anime tropes more than it's aiming for political satire (the emphasis on "toughing it out" and sheer genki goodness leading to success reminds me of a good number of idol anime). This could change, but I find it notable that the politics side of things is truly surface-level so far - There's not much depth to anything on the politics side, no discussion of specific public policies for example. So I think that first and foremost this is an idol anime comedy, that's just using politics for lighthearted jokes and punchlines.

If you're not familiar with idol anime, and/or tend to seriously dislike idol anime, this show might not be for you.

Well, the idol craze has officially reached WTF levels of stupid. What sort of sick fantasy is this where government officials are elected based on how cute they are and how well they sing? Well, at least it makes me feel a little bit better about the last few elections in my home country. We may have chosen jackasses who really shouldn't be in office, but at least we didn't choose cute girls who don't even know the structure of the governmental hierarchy. And I must admit, when elections of an official decay to the point where someone can get elected because they're not that other person, voting based on face and voice doesn't seem all that bad. The country's still screwed though, if the legislative branch is being slowly taken over by brats who haven't finished puberty yet.

Probably not, but portraying politics as corrupt and farcical in this shallow way discourages real political engagement.

Two points:
- you're not making a good case for real world politics. Between jackasses and jackasses who also happen to be cute girls, I'd rather have cute girls. (What I'd really like is deadly gladiatorial combat, so politicians could die a lot, but that's another story...)
- for decades idols have saved the world against alien invasions. How is that less ridiculous than political parties choosing good looking mouthpieces?

It's like a conclusion of twisted logic in democracy. It's always the party leadership that decides on political issues anyway...their challenge is how to stuff the parliament with as many of their neophytes as possible. So yeah, why not have them be idols? That seems like it could actually work.
