S;G 12 - We feel it coming, a new tomorrow
So the lab invented Darth Vader's lightsaber in their off time. I wonder, if someone were to take the power of all the gadgets Rintaro and company have invented and use them at once, would they be invincible? The end of the episode was shocking, yes, but I've played enough VNs with parallel worlds to know that death isn't final. Plus, we're only halfway through the series. Something can be done, something will be done, something must be done. And I still have no clue what FB is. |

This episode...this is it everyone. This is the turning point. Moeka was a SERN spy all along, she was ordered to capture Okabe, Daru, and Kurisu and their time leap machine. Mayushi is not needed...so Moeka kills her...
Everyone...prepare for one heck of a thrilling ride for the rest of the series.

Oh the atmosphere has been getting darker since Okarin had his black hole dream, I was worried they were overdoing it and that the climax would lose its edge because of that.
I needn't have worried. I was at the edge of my seat.

Holy shit...I already knew that Mayushii would die but...holy shit...;_;
Hamasaki and Sato should be commended for their excellent directional skills on this series. Even if you already had knowledge that Mayushii was going to die this ep, you still felt the impact thanks to the superb direction in this episode, and I just can't give them enough praise for that. I wasn't sure if they had it in them to live up to the hype for this series since they had never worked on anything too notable, but they've really proved themselves in the last couple episodes. Now, I have no idea what's going to happen after this, but I hope it truly does live up to the roller coaster horror that people have been making it out to be. Oh, shouldn't this get its own section? I mean, it's pretty clear it's picked up a lot in popularity in the past couple weeks, with over 130k views and 88 pages worth of posts and all, and we have 51 people viewing the thread right now. It's much more deserving of it than Aria is, that's for sure. Or is halfway through the run too late, even if its 2-cour?

Well Texhnolyze is one of my favorite animes, so Hamasaki had nothing to prove to me .
But anyways, great episode. The shit has truly hit the fan now. There's still so many things unclear about the plot. How did a lone text message to Daru save Kurisu? Why can Okabe remember different timelines? What are those weird dream sequences? And damn, I never did like Moeka, so it's good that she's an antagonist. But yes, the directing is absolutely superb. It's hard to wait for more from this series.

He was chosen by Steins;Gate, remember?
And damn, this series is so awesome. I really hope episode 25 is just an OVA of silliness instead of an epilogue or final episode. Don't want to wait two years to have the series truly conclude. Spoiler for 12:

Shit. Got. REAL.
Months ago, a certain poster have opened a thread trying to discuss "expected vs unexpected", basically a story where you could see things coming a mile away vs one filled to the brim with plot twists. The problem is that this poster kept throwing his weight around by telling everyone that the latter will always be better than the former., and that those arguing otherwise are idiots, even if they kept saying that all is in the execution. This episode is the big middle finger to that guy. Indeed, the director have shown that with proper and solid direction in storytelling and cinematography, you can still deliver when it comes to an event that many have seen coming. Problem, dear poster? |
