The game's been out for Steam and the Switch for a while. Basically, it's an indie game made by yeo, a Russian indie developer who's inspired by the Kunio Kun franchise.

IIRC, he used the sprites from the various KK games to supposedly make a mod before it was abandoned. He also mentioned that it's mostly based on growing up in Moscow and witnessing/experiencing things such as being in fights and his father being wounded by an armed man.

Also, he requests everyone not to spoil the ending.

PS - There's no sequel. yeo made it clear in the steam forums.
