1) The software in question is called Ulead Version 10. I ripped the DVD with the software known as PSP Movie Maker in MP4 format.
2) I actually learnt how to edit from prior experience with a VERY easy to use (but basic) software known as Pinnacle Studios. My recommendation: Start With Ulead if you want: it is completely beginner friendly. However, show yourself the ropes and fundmanetals with something a lot simpler like pinnacle before jumping off into any deep ends (don't use Vegas: powerful, but convoluted and prone to crashing ye computer). Thanks, Sir/Madame/Miss. You Rock!!
Though just wondering: Where did you get your avatar? It reminds me of an awesome 80's anime about a travelling rock band that is competing with another travelling rock band. |

In 2 days, my next quickie project:
1) Nerine's heartwarming theme from Shuffle to the Life of Anakin Skywalker. And 3 days after that: 2) Weird Al Yankovic's Jerry Springer to the WHOLE darn 6 Star Wars Movies. REALLY Looking Forward To Editing Them!! |

Sorry it took me some time to reply to this, cos I feel RAW about what happened.
I learnt the HARD way why there is no such thing as a Japan produced AMV. You see, I posted links to this AMV in Japanese Mai Hime BBS's, as a gesture of respect to the country that produced this awesome piece of music. Some Sunrise peon browsing through the pages decided to report this to the head brass, and have it requested wiped, despite the fact that Miss Kajiura Yuki, NOT Sunrise, owns the song "Mezame." And as I was the only fool NAIVE enough to post in Japanese websites my AMV, ONLY my AMV was targeted, NOT the other 16 Mezame AMVs. I have written to Ms Yuki about this, and thus far she has expressed NO objection to this video's continuous existence. In 3 days, when I have the bandwidth, I will repost this on youtube, with a REASONABLY worded letter to them saying "if you want to take off mine, then don't be a hypocrite and take off ALL the AMVS from your site involving this song." BOY do I feel RAW about this. |

ok, making AMV is not illegal when the footage adn audio are originally made by yourself.
however, using other people's footage/video and audio/music is basically violating any sorts of piracy rules. e.g., using a pirated Adobe Photoshop to create a wallpaper. Creating wallpaper is legal. using pirated Adobe Photoshop is not legal. however, in anycase, we know that for the fact that his video was taken down one way or the other. just that he was too unlucky to had his stuff spoted by Sunrise staff. the rest they probably don't care much/ no time to care, just probably thought they'd take someone's amv out as a warning to others or for show that they had done thier job. ok, enough for the crap, man, i want to see your AMV!!!! |
