To my knowledge though, there isn't actually another model kit instruction mention of the 1 Gundam's designation other than this one.
PG 00 Raiser, though not exactly instruction manual.

Since the 1 Gundam and 0 Gundam use letters for pronunciation.

Wouldn't that mean we should call the 1.5 Gundam "Aifive"?

Actually it counts. I've forgotten about that one.

But I still stand by what I said earlier about lack of an official canonity hierarchy though.

.......nope, its much MUCH more complicated than that.....

1 = the letter "I" = pronounced "Ai"
1.5 = the letters "I" + "S" = pronounced "Ai" + "Zu" (remember Japanese pronunciation and the 'omission' of u. Alsu "zu" is sometimes used to mimic English pluralization. Hence the English word "eyes" is in katakana, "aizu".)

It's silly but perhaps the person who thought of this pronunciation system thought it cool?

Well looks like I gotta get re-programmed. I finally got down to calling it the 1 Gundam...this'll take a while...
Nosferatu posted right after mike did, so I impulsely decided to put it there as well.

Not that I'm trying to force it, since it was a question in the first place.

Though, if Bandai isn't inconsistent about that part, I'll bite.

Yes, I think I'm going to go with that one too, but only under the reason that its the latest reelased book. Although I've honestly like the new one more for both.

What I've actually speculated to have happened was that the 00V Gundam Weapons book [as well as some early promo ads for the 1 Gundam] actually did plan to change the designation to match the more cohesive CB-001.5 to match make it more cohesive with CB-002 Raphael. They have even bothered to change the GN Cannon's model number by adding a 0 there.

But I think that somewhere along the lines, they've accidentally copy pasted the older model numbers. [both the for the 1 Gundam and GN Cannon] And we have the situation we are having now. My guess is that the people running the main 00I website was not exactly in on this [not told probably], since the mech part rarely gets updated.

And we have the situation we have now........a revert back to the old one. Mistake or not its there in black and white.

There is a second Special Edition Chapter of 00P regarding the 1.5 Gundam just like there was one for the Astraea F. So that will be very interesting indeed.........

Maybe its just me... but I kinda like the naming theme for the 0-1 Gundam line. Including the 1.5 Gundam being the "Eyes Gundam".

"Oh" Gundam has a ring to it. "One" Gundam doesn't, IMO.

"Ai" sounds much better.

Ironically, I can get used to the pronunciation of most things except the "1 Gundam". I cant help it, I still call it one.

Don't get me started on the Aizu thingy..............oh well, its not like I "talk" to anyone about Gundam 00 anyways.

Thanks dude. You just made me laugh really hard.

That will recover one day of my lifetime. This CB designation issue has probably taken a week out of the old ticker already.

Well, cover my losses wherever I can find it.

1.5 Gundam = "ichi" (one) "go" (five)/ "Ichigo" (strawberry) Gundam?

Since "5" is read as "S" or "Zu" in 00verse, then "2" should be "Z". So maybe "Zetto"?

From Homeless, this pic is from this month's 00V Senki Chapter 7, starring the 1.5 Gundam.

Spoiler for 1.5 Gundams UNITE!!!!!:

Its apparently a dream sequence, hence the illogicalness of the whole scene. Haven't gotten much specifics yet other than that.

And no, there's nothing wrong with your eyes. The color your seeing is the color your seeing. -.-

I do wonder what exactly Beside is dreaming off this time though?

Seem like the binder has much more use than I thought. Shield reinforcing? Who'd have thought.

That's what has me wondering. Also, did anyone notice that the Ai Gundam's rifle has two different colors to the blast? One is blood red, the other one is a bright yellow like the Gadessa's Mega Launcher.

Odd...

For a moment I thought that the second one was being focused by the binders, since I remember they can do that (alvaaron cannon), but they aren't. They're on the shoulders acting like cannons.
