Alrighty, to get back to the topic of pets, here's a pic of Felix and his spanking new toy.

Ah, found this pic of the cat that lives with us named Dammit .... taken last Christmas:

dammit the cat -- look the other way.... just for a moment

(and yes, if you look close there are tiny Skelanimals, viruses, and bacteria plushies on the tree)

Why do you call the cat Dammit? Quite an unusual name.

Short answer: it saves time...

1) Dammit, get off of the table!
2) Dammit, get out of the cabinet!
3) Dammit, get away from my anime figures!
4) Dammit, stop eating the plants!
5) Dammit, he pulled over the christmas tree again...

One time I found him playing with the twin-tailed head of Fate.. he had decapitated her.
I have clocked him leaping over six feet straight up and snaring a moth (om nom nom)

All of our pets have/had unusual names... I really don't believe in giving animals human names (there's even a short sci-fi story about uplifted dogs that feel terrible for any dog given a human name )>
Our previous cat was named Dawg -- beautiful white ragdoll cat that ate like a dog and was prone to garbage can diving.
Before that it was Animal -- named after the psychopathic manic drummer in the Muppet Show. You would turn a corner and there he'd be hanging upside down like an enraged sloth from a door arch with completely dilated eyes. He would also attack strangers and played "ptui-pingpong" in the hallway (carry a pingpong ball in his mouth, eject it with a ptui and chase after it). He'd also stalk women in skirts and pounce up inside their skirt, wap them on the butt with his paws and delightedly run away as they screamed.
We had one mutt dog quite a ways back we named "Rut-ro" (the sound the dog made in the animated series "The Jetsons").

Have to agree about giving animals human names....My cat's name is Felix, and I have a friend whose name is also Felix. Every time I call him by his name, I have the strange feeling that I'm calling for my cat, not my friend.

I see. Dammit is a good name. It acts as a term of endearment but you can also use it to scold him without sounding too harsh, given that Dammit is his name and you are not using harsh language. Lol, I commend you on your choice.

This is Jane. My friend will be away for a year, so I will take care of Jane in her place. She's a bit shy and easily agitated atm, but I am sure she will be just fine. She will be sharing my bed tonight, just to help her to get used to my scent and my presence.

Had a good laugh at this

"The difference between cats and dogs was summarized well by a caller to a local radio station when he said, "My dog looks at all the things I provide for her & says, "You must be God. My cat looks at all the things I provide for him and says, ˜I must be God.""

No, her left eye looks like it's looking straight on while her right eye is off to the side.

To the best of my knowledge, and for as long as I've known her, she's always been like this. My friend never said anything about her eyes being abnormal and whatnot.

On second thought, they don't look so weird after all.

My bad.

It's all right, I am quite certain little Jane will take that as a compliment.

I read Jane's look as a typical cat expression of, "I cannot fully express my loathing of the entire world at this moment. It would be a bad idea to turn your back."

Felix was neutered today, and he has to wear a head collar for a few days. He absolutely loathes it though. He is extremely restless and keeps fidgeting to escape himself from the collar of hell. Poor Felix. Anyway, apart from castration, Felix was also vaccinated and received flea treatment. Quite a hefty sum to pay, but it's worth it.

My cat just got to take hers off this week, they get very irritated because they can't hear behind them.

Haha, it's not the first and the last time he will give me that look. Anyway, I hope that Felix will stop peeing everywhere. It might be too late for that, given that he is 10/11 months old, but at least he won't do it that much any more?
