Light novel series Buta no Liver wa Kanetsu Shiro/Heat the Pig Liver is getting a TV anime adaptation.

Syonpsis/Premise from Crunchyroll:

The main character is an unappealing otaku who awakens in the body of a pig after he passes out while eating raw pig liver. Pig finds himself in the company of Jess, an innocent girl who can read people's minds, and she accepts him despite his boorish thoughts...although she does plan to eat him. When Jess is in danger of succumbing to a dark destiny, can Pig save her using only his quick wits, wisdom, and refined sense of smell?

Well...this is odd. Considering her intention to eat him...isn't it in the main character's interests to support this 'dark destiny'? Have her taken out before she takes him out? I mean there is a fair point that she's cute and is one of the only people can communicate with. But...not sure that's worth dying for.

This was pretty ridiculous, but I actually had a good time with it .

My condolences to Jess who has been asked to ignore the monologues of the MC which definitely go places! I suppose that's all that can be done of course. At best he could really try to restrain his own thoughts, but that probably wouldn't work out all that well anyways. Either way she'll have to work with getting a pretty filter free look into his mind.

Says a ton about her life and situation though that this is still a huge step up for her compared to most interactions. True enough that most people are kinder to those they are close to than those they aren't. But how badly do people treat those in her position? It's hard to say since ironically we haven't seen another person besides Jess so far.

Also despite the summary...it doesn't sound like she's planning on eating him. Not unless he tells her that he's into that kind of thing .

Definitely some hints as to things not being good for her personal situation. But funny enough there seems to be some hope for the MC. The only question is whether he really can be turned into a human or not. This is an isekai situation. So he wasn't necessarily brought here and then turned into a pig by people of this world. If it was some godly level interference then who knows. But at least he's got a bit of hope. Though I don't think he's fully taken this situation as being completely real yet.

All I can say is that Jess is super cute. Sweet girl who seems to have some difficulties. I like little details though such as her being quite into fairy tales. Lot of time to herself and plenty of chances to dream of adventures and better things.

This was a really solid start. I just get a kick out of the voice actor of characters like Kirito, As Nodt, Bell Cranel, etc as....a pig!

This world is looking increasingly unsavory by the minute. Weren't subtle with Jess' journey not being one that's to have a pleasant end to it. But this episode just further locks that in. And somehow I think "selling sexual organs" doesn't mean selling one's body for sex. With this setting I wouldn't be surprised if they are actually selling organs...

Jess really did go above and beyond for the MC. Even using things she shouldn't have in order to stabilize his condition and get his vision powered up to a more human level. Though I guess since her life seems to be forfeit...she figured that she might as well do so.

Getting out of this situation is the first priority. But whatever Jess' situation is...that seems to be a trickier one to handle.

Not a bad job by what is basically just a pig with very light magical support. Especially since he messed up one of his legs there. Getting out of there with only a stab wound (though obviously not a good one) is fairly impressive. The worst case scenario would have been getting stuck in there with that maniac!

The solution is pretty safe to guess. He did get out there with the killer's bag. Even if that guy is selling garbage and used goods....there's a whole bag. Has to be enough there for Jess to save his life.

Still enjoying the goofy nature of the show. Been a while since I thought about Dance Dance Revolution, but some nostalgia never hurts. I'm also surprised the pig had a decent escape plan. Like anything it required a bit of good fortune to get rolling, but it was a decent way to get out of that situation.

I thought there'd be a bit more certainty about what is going on with the Yethma. It still seems extremely likely they are being killed in the capital, but the purpose of all this is hard to gauge yet. There's some weird elements to it. Presuming the Yethma bodies and collars are valuable the capital seems incredibly lazy about making sure they actually make it to the capital. They aren't seemingly handling these Yethma Hunters who you'd think are basically stealing their valuables. I guess it's possible the hunters are limbs of the capital though. If it doesn't matter if these girls arrive alive or dead they can just have the hunters drop off the Yethma remains, pay them, and if any Yethma make it through the gauntlet they still win. Though I'm not sure on that since it wouldn't seem like the Hunters are needed. There was one convent hiding Yethma, but overall they seem to just go ahead and do what's expected of them.

Could always be that the Capital is a sham. If no one knows what it's like in there it could just be a myth. But who knows.

Saving the pig was as expected so nothing to say there. But these two seem set to continue their journey just fine. Just...had to work out some things like riding a pig properly . No one's coming back to this thread after that one .

Kind of nice to know that there were some people that thought this Yethma situation was messed up and tried to hide them away. Living in a convent isn't ideal, but better than the alternative. Or it would have been if the Hunters hadn't tracked them down...

Honestly, bringing this guy along makes sense. Pig isn't so arrogant that he thinks he can effectively protect Jess by himself. Someone with weapons and a literal burning hatred of hunters? Yeah, that's pretty handy to have around. His emotional connection to the girl that looked like Jess is a bit concerning, but the pros outweighs the cons.

I get Ceres both not wanting Notto to go and being really depressed over his attachment to the girl that died. But obviously the OP gives an idea how this will all work out so it should be ok. At least she got a nice chat with the Pig overnight.

Guess we'll see how everything goes. But makes sense that the MC is drawing a line right now. He can fall for Jess, but isn't in a state (being a pig) to do much about it anyways. Plus there just hasn't been enough time to let things build up naturally.

Steadily delving into how messed up the whole situation in that world is. The Yethma situation is pretty disturbing and we haven't even gotten answers on what is done with the Yethma that makes it to the capital. I still think the hunters have to be considered acceptable since there's little done to stop them. But, I can't imagine it's a happy fate waiting for those girls.

Lot of questions. Some answers in this episode, but it also shows how so much is simply not known by the public.

Some awkward moments between the Pig and Jess. But I guess there isn't too much time to dwell on that. Not with a mysterious voice on the wind.

Honestly part of me thought with the OP that Ceres would go along. But I guess that would definitely be a legal issue since she's hardly "free". Though I have a feeling they'll see her soon enough. No way Jess just is dropped off at the capital and the story ends there. They'll find out some horrors and have to go on the run and she might end up caught in it all. At least she got her chance to confess her feelings.

Well that rescue went well. Having a good group definitely helps. They didn't rush into a trap and managed to get through it just fine. I'm still a bit uneasy about this Blaise girl. But I suppose she has been through a ton of suffering.

At least they are closing in on the capital. So we'll get to what is undoubtedly going to be an awful reveal about what happen to Yethma that actually get there.

The flirting continues which will ensure that I'm the only one talking about this show .

Decent episode overall. I wouldn't be surprised if Naut wanted to confirm that he'll totally abandon the pig if it comes down to that for the group to escape. Fair enough.

That new chick is pretty sus. Hotter than Jess IMO, and not just because boobs lol. But yea, I'd be having trouble entirely trusting her. She seems a bit off in the head. Of course, who knows what she went through. She could be totally broken inside. Which also could lead to bad stuff still, like she'll slit their throats on the command of her captors. But hopefully she's cool and just withdrawn, not something worse.

Tempted to just read ahead to find out what's the story with the capital, heh. The MC has gotten a lot less annoying, thank God.

Oh geeze. That poor girl. It's amazing she's been able to power on as long as she has while in a state like that. Yethma are tough. It's sad that she has the mindset of basically acting as a diversion if needed. Because even if she makes it to the capital...it probably won't matter.

Figures that her efforts to make sure she's sacrificed if needed will probably ensure that Naut tries to save her anyways. Just a cruel fate that after all the atrocities committed against her that she can't be saved. Of course who knows. If they can get into the capital they might have healing abilities that go beyond common sense.

Of course the priority to protect Jess is the logical one for about all sides. She's healthier and the desire to save her is as strong for the whole party as you can get. But obviously Jess isn't keen on others being sacrificed and now that Naut is aware of Blaise's condition it'll be harder to make that call.

They sure didn't waste much time in the following episode revealing the truth. Honestly I thought she might be a spy or intending to turn on them for some crazy reason. It was hard to get a read on her. But the truth was just a lot more tragic than I could have imagined.

Just sad to think that Blaise would prefer to reincarnate on Earth with the expectation that she wouldn't be seen as overly attractive. Something said for somewhat comedic effect ending up twisted in a sad way for this episode.
