Agree, Shana is alot better character with some vulnerability

Yuji started out bad, but becomes better as the story goes on.

I wanted Shana (the main female character) to have more of a stronger role, but alas she has to have feelings for the main male character which will tend to be a female heroine's undoing, the same happened to the anime "Claymore" which I stopped watching after episode 5. By the way Im a guy, but for once i just wanna see an anime that doesnt make the female main character have the weaknesses of a stereotypical female.

My 2 Cents

P.V.
In a way, those feelings made her stronger. Remember how she could not wield her flame and use it more freely? After her meeting and interaction with Yuuji, it unleashes her (or rather, Alastor's) potential of power.

Feelings don't make a character weaker; they make them more three-dimensional.

Well, unless you actually live in Japan or go visit there, it's pretty unlikely that you'll be able to see it very easily until it arrives on DVD. The DVD hasn't been scheduled yet, so we'll probably all be waiting until then.

Shakugan no Shana DVDs and General Boxset Concerns

I have been wanting to purchase the Shakugan no Shana series on DVD for quite some time now, but I see no American retailers that have a starter set. My question would be, is there a distributor that sells just DVD boxes? I am aware that a box for Shakugan no Shana does not exist right now, but when it pops up, I would rather not buy another volume 1 DVD just to get the box.

If there will be a box released for Shana, it will not be as a "starter set". It will likely be vol 7+box or similar or possibly with the entire series in it. No company is going to re-release a box with a single DVD that has already been out for a while.

That said, there are no retailers that I am aware of that sell boxes only. They will sometimes appear on ebay and the likes though.

i don't think there is a group thats doing a translation because as someone have said earlier, that each book contains thousands of japanese characters and is a pain to translate.

So have you guys heard about the prequel manga? The pics look great, so I'm hoping it gets animated.

Simple.

They just watched the first 2-3 episodes or so, take in the obvious parts, erase the major difference in characters from their minds, block out all the 'complicating' developments ignore the reviews and comments from blogs and anime fans who like them...

... Beside, part of their job description is probably being an ass

Sounds like THEM Anime Reviews.

Overall I feel open mindedness and fairness in anime reviewing and discussion is at an all time low these days.

Ok that really pissed me off, I'm really tired about puting Bleach as the greatest and Shakugan like a little clone

Sorry Bleach fans but Bleach sucks (in my opinion)

Posted something there in the shoutbacks. To be fair to the reviewer, it's only been ONE volume, and he/she implied that it looks as though it will get better. To reiterate, if one can understand Bleach, I don't see why the same person cannot understand the world of SnS.

Cheerio.
