To be honest...b4 i bought an anime from the market... i sure look at the art work 1st so if the art work is lousy i won't give a damn to even watch the anime. This is normal... human eyes always want to see beautiful things right??
If the character and art work of an anime is lousy it would spoil the fun from watching it...thats wat happen to me when i watch this Meteor Garden...the artwork damn lousy...just looking at the character makes me puke...but the story line is nice...so i turn out reading it's novel instead...haha~ Those who live at South East Asia might know about Meteor Garden i think...just look at the manga character design enough to make me stay up whole night long... |

I think that, sometimes, really hentai anime are less vulgar than ecchi ones. For example, Canvas has a very nice story, and the sex between the protagonists is a natural ending. On the other side, I found titles like Green green, or the sensei scenes in Mahoromatic, very tiresome.

Personally, while your example of a restaurant does sound kind of weird, upon giving it more thought, I realize that we have places not unlike that. Take "Medieval Times", for example. People go there to watch jousting and other medieval European sports over dinner--it's in a staduim setting. You can even tour a medieval dungeon before dinner, if you'd like. I remember when I used to live back in Texas, there was a restaraunt where they would cut off your tie and mount it to the wall if you came in too overdressed. The same restaurant had a HUGE two story tall metal slide that emptied out onto the dance floor. (This was not just for the kids, btw. Adults went on it too.) Kind of strange, but really a lot of fun. How exciting a place is is what you make of it. Just because a place is not the same as home doesn't mean you can't have fun there, or that there are no fun places to go. When I visited Vietnam for an extended stay, there was nothing there that I was used to doing back home, and I didn't get to go to many "fun" places anyway. But I would never say that it was boring or lacked variety, because I tried to find interest in the day to day things.

Fanservice is not something that depends only on the culture, the money and the taste about anime, i think that there is more to it that we think.
Maybe the real problem that i have about fanservice is because I'M A GIRL and i don't really like to see other girls, not even on cartoon, do thing that degrade the image that we have of women. Maybe it's because of that, that this thread frustrate me. They don't care about woman just about man. We live in a man world. When i think deeply about it, maybe it's because i hate man, that's why i hate fanservice in anime, because it's made just for them and women just got to shut up. Women just don't have the rigth to think that it's degrading for them all this fanservice, they don't have taste or opinon why should they care? |

Spoiler for Yogo_Pogo:
Unfortunatelly, FMA had been licensed recently. Yet what I'm trying to say is that fanservice can swing both ways in Anime. But it can be difficult to find what people look for when it comes to ecchi as the term ecchi can be a broad definition. Thus even I don't know if that above picture works for you, though generally considered as I've known that character to please a few fan-girls. More FMA pictures can be found at http://www.fullmetal-alchemist.com/index.php. |

I'd say, you're not thinking this through properly. Showing some naked skin has absolutely nothing to do with soft porn
It's only soft porn if you see a couple having intercourse, but you don't see the penetration itself. Showing or not showing the penetration directly is the difference between soft and hard porn. Over here, you'll often see more or less naked womeon in ads on TV, not only at night (when you practically see nothing but fully naked women suggestively stretching on a bed in phone sex ads), but during the entire day! Mahoromatic is really very harmless and has absolutely nothing to do with soft porn (nor has any other anime showing some naked skin). Also, there is no such thing as "too much fan service"! |

Oh... i c... well u hav the point there yogo pogo. Haha~ very true enough...
Err... i'm at the lost of words here...help anyone?? But i do like that fella... (Reffering to jennwenn picture from FMA) Well i'm a guy rite but i do like guys character sometimes...but is true enough that mostly girls lost ther clothes compare to guys...Err.... Well i dunno about other ppl out there, but whenever i'm at home i'll wearing only my pants and shown my Muscles...(I think so ) but girls can't rite becoz they got something to cover on the chest part... So wat i'm trying to say is that...even a guy losts his clothes he needn't need to worry cause there's nothing to cover while is deferent cases for girls... In certain anime which not seems to be that reality...u'll see that a person that engulf in flame doesn't seems to get his or her clothes burn...where's the scientific explaination for that?? So nowadays anime that been done is more to reality side where clothes play a important role and in the same time make sense. Well thats all i have to say, Is not wrong to be anti-guys. Since choas around the world is cause by Guys anyways...but i do hope u dun think of all the guys in the world r like that lolz. Oh~ another think...yogo pogo..u r not living in the man's world u know?? Is equalize...there's alot of politician and successful woman in the world and they played a very important role in the world of ur so-called "Men's world" Hate to say this but as a guy...i dun think i can live my life without girls...haha~ i hav alot of female friends that help me alot during my schooling time and even now... So dun think af woman is so Down...becoz u r not...who knows u might b a very important person that played a very important role in this world in the future?? |

i don't like excessive muscle guys. just not my type. and he looks ridiculous too.
Maybe i got a little carried away the other day... But even if women have big position in politics and such, that does not mean that the world is equal. Showing a guy with no shirts is not showing him naked, because it's not an area where he got something that can, how can i say this, attrack the oposit sex, or at least it does nothing to me. Am i weird? Woman got two areas to hide, but we always see one of these area. Why guys don't show it too, if there was equality, they just have to show their "private" part too. Are men to scared to show that? Is it too ugly to show? Am i off topic? |

Males on average like watching nude women more then females like to watch nude men. So males are willing to spend more money on fanservice or porn with the result that more is produced. If women would buy more the market would produce more for their tastes. Other industries might care more for women. The cosmetic industry for example. Another problem with showing nude men seems to be that many other guys are totally disgusted seeing them. I have the impression that women do not care much seeing other nude women (wrong ?). We have nude men here on TV. They are just fewer for the above reasons. Buy more anime with fanservice for females so more will be produced . Also there is more fanservice on many german beaches then there is in normal anime (not ecchi, hentai) . |

1st- Certain girls like to dress sexily which cause the breast to be half expose. Slowly....as time pass by... 2nd- That certain girls bcome more excesive, they wear super thin bikini around the open beach... More time pass by... at certain area... 3rd- That psycho certain girls starts to get "Gaa-gaa" around guys and talks about them more then guys talk about girls and dress seducetively to attract guys. Thus, this is the world of 4th generations where certain girls dun mind getting themself expose like the one in Wrestling show from certain western country. Furthermore, being a eastern ppl is natural for eastern ppl to protect their culture, but is slightly deferent for ppl from western, they got a more open minded thinking which might be disturbing 4 ppl from eastern like us. So yogo_Pogo, r u a western or a eastern person? Do u hav ur culture to protect? Do u that~ open minded? No matter wat ur answer is...u still need to accept their culture as they'll respect ur culture as well... Is really disturb to see ppl showing their private parts to the public but some ppl just dun mind ~_~" I admit it that is ashamed for me to show my private part but it depands on the situations... dun tell me that, even until i'm married also can't make love with my wife?? |

Well ... I hate fanservice with a passion, as it only disgusts me, especially the female characters with breasts bigger than their heads. I don't really understand why someone likes this, but then again, I don't understand why people like the Playboy either. Oh well ... I'm guess I'm weird. ^^;
Thinking about it ... I like Bishounen better than Bishoujo ... though I'm not really attracted to men. Then again, I'm not attracted to women either. |

In the western world, women who show their "private parts" are doing so deliberatly. In the western society, you can do almost everything, as long as you don't harm another person in the process. And as far as I am concernd, that's a good thing. What do you intend to do anyway? Strip women of their right to show their "private parts"? It's certainly a bad thing if a woman thinks she is nothing but a sexual object, however, some seem to don't mind that. >__< |

sex is soft porn showing panties is just stupid and strange because who would want to see fashes of undies anyway? i don't get it?
But the other stuff u get decentatised to it and just over look it unless it is really bad, deciding wether or not to continue watching this ugly beautiful world just because they showed under age naked girls was hard since the story line was interesting in the end i just watched the series once because the girls getting their tops off ruined it for me showing under age girls like that would that be classified as illegal or since its a cartoon can they get away with it? can somebody answer me i would be curious of what ppl thought |
