Yeah, machine guns are also able to use the attention-grabbing to help distract a target tank while another flanks it, or they can be used to help locate targets when visibility is lower without having to waste primary ammunition.

MG's are also used as shot placement devices for the main gun: coaxial machineguns, which are mounted on the same position as the main gun, are at times fired to get an estimate of where the main gun's aim is. This is demonstrated in GuP episode 9 when Hana shoots the T-34 flag tank with the machinegun, making it divert its course straight to the waiting StuG III - said T-34 would have thought that said MG fire was the Panzer IV trying to get a bead on it, and since it hit its main gun would be trained on it as well.

American vocal cords tend to have a hard time replicating the cute Japanese voices... there's a reason they say Japanese seiyuu use helium

I don't think it's really bad. It's different, sure, but the narration still sounds young girl-ish, and there is some emotion in it.

Not as far as I know, but not only will the result probably be close to the landslide victory implied by Ep7, but I suspect it'll be lighter and more comedic as a whole compared to the manga. They seem to have settled on Anchovy's seiyuu in the Deep Panzer CD, and I just don't see her playing solemn.

To the best of my knowledge, the Anzio OVA will release somewhere in Spring 2014. As for its length, I'm going to expect something in the 16 minute range, but a full 24 minute episode could be a possibility

I barely know voice actors in Japan and know American ones even less, so just tell me the important point - do these actors typically sound anywhere close to the Japanese seiyuu already chosen, or would we have to settle for them putting their completely different rendition?
