Interesting. The reason I'm asking is because it's a bit hard to make out where the narrative is trying to go and what to expect, plot-wise- since it seems to be reinventing itself every 12 episodes.
Glad to hear that the first arc still has some relevance. Thanks for the answers

My usual attitude is to take things as they come and see how it all comes together in the end. Even in the first anime, I think they did a good job of introducing concepts and having those concepts be revisited and further-refined later, while also introducing new concepts to be explored. I imagine it'll similarly keep coming together in the continuation; looking forward to it.

I watched the PV and I'm already rather disappointed at the VA selection for the girl who's name wasn't either mentioned or I just can't remember it..
Grr .. one of the VA's I really dislike edit: Ahem .. This probably doesn't belong in this thread but not sure where else to put it. Where is the general discussion for SAO II?

So I did myself zero favors by looking at wikipedia. instantly spoiled the plot line for me.
In other news, I'm pretty sure they confirmed the date for July 5th. I'm incredibly excited, but I'm wondering if they'll just release the first episode on the 5th, or the whole season with subs/dubs. :/ |

Kirito riding a motorcycle. Kirito riding a motorcycle !
GGO wins from having that feature alone . The animation for season 2 is so far looking pretty good . Nice to see that we'll be getting some Kirito x Asuna scenes in both the real world and ALO .

We have the first episode title because:

The first episode was screened at special events held in the United States, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Japan before the television premiere between June 29 and July 4, 2014." 1: "The World of Guns" "Jū no Sekai" (銃の世界) |

At ANN they have this trivia:
In Episode 3, one of the avatars of the forum posters looks like an altered version of "Cactuar" (a monster npc and a "Guardian Force" entity from the game series "Final Fantasy") that looks a bit fatter with different hair and wears black sunglasses. In episode 4, the game's "Photon Sword" is also referred to by the names "Laser Blade" and "Beam Saber", which are references to energy swords from Toei's Space Sherriff franchise and Sunrise's Mobile Suit Gundam respectively. The sounds made by the Photon Sword are also those made by the Light Sabers from the Star Wars franchise. |
