I've got some questions about making animated avatars... I'd appreciate it if someone answered:
- What color pallette do you guys usually use? Also, dithered, non-dithered gifs?
- Is there any way to further optimize your gifs besides downsizing the pallette?
- What about sharpening filters?

Here's my first shot at an avatar, didn't come out too well:

And it's too big, 40 KB... 90x90, since this one forum I frequent does not allow bigger images, even on external links.

I use default photoshop/image ready pallete, I however do use levels and/or brightness/contrast to make it more vibrant.

Dithering.. in image ready I go to 4 up, usually the bottom left one is the best size, without too much quality loss. I forget what the settings on it was, maybe 100% dithered, 128 colors.

never tried sharpening filters, usually dont work that well in general.

Since my attempt at the first one was less then umm satisfactory I'll use yours. I see two things wrong with my gif 1st is the little dots going horizontally in it and second is it doesn't loop right. Is there anything else? But I was much to lazy to try to fix it.

Any pointers when making them? I am a noob at this after all but I'm having fun doing them.

Oh and Lunchbox I really like that first one you made. I was thinking that would make a perfect gif when watching that scene.

Although I like how you centered around his hand in your gif.

can someone take a request? I don't remember the time of the frames... but it's in episode 94... and it's when Captain Smoker lights up two cigars simultaneously.... can I please get a animated gif for that? it's in the latest episode and ...
