Awesome episode. Action, comedy, yuri. Asama could have shoot down the spaceship with her boobs. Made an attack like this http://www.mangafox.com/manga/mai_ot...1/c004/13.html

......

I'm speechless. Words just fail to describe how epic this episode is. Anyway, I gave a perfect 10 for this episode.

What I want to talk about were already mentioned. So I'll just comment in parts not talked about yet.

Tercio
- It was written as 西班牙方陣 in the novel. I wasn't really familiar with military tactics, so I looked it up. Anyways, it was a very effective battle formation in this skirmish. Its shortcoming is the slow mobility, but it excels in defense. Why focus in defense? They have the number advantage. This is what Kimi is implicitly asking Neshinbara. The answer, K.P.A. Italia and Tres Espana's main objective isn't really winning, but holding off Musashi until Horizon's execution. They used Tercio as a road blockade, while three ships stands guard above the sky as sky blockade.

---

I actually drew the illustration on a piece of paper when I was reading the novel (otherwise, in retrospect, I would have trouble following through the event). Imagine an inverted triangle. Musashi is in bottom corner, while the place where Horizon is located is in the upper right corner. The distance between Musashi and their goal is around 7km. They can easily zip through that distance using an acceleration technique, but Musashi is unable to move at this moment for some reason (I have to reread that part in the novel as I can't recall why).

Within the inverted triangle are mountains. They have the alternative option of detouring by taking the long way, taking the upper-left route of the inverted triangle, thus avoiding the fortified Tercio army in the west corridor (located in the middle of the direct path to their goal). In the back side, besides Regno Unito (Innocentius' ship) and the Spanish Inquisitor ship, the defense is relatively weak. Unfortunately, they cannot consider this option due to time constraint (moving troops takes time, and Horizon's execution is around 2 hours?).

I guess that's why Toori charged straight towards the enemy's troops as if he was thinking nothing. They can't afford dilly-dallying as every second is important to them.

I am about halfway through it and it is kind of funny to read at the same time as Horizon is going. That reminds me of some strangeness of this recreation. I guess it's either ignorance or taking some liberties due to current importance of countries. There shouldn't really be an Italy as it doesn't actually exist at this time. Most of it is part of Spain, most of the rest is independent city states and only a small part is part of the Papal State, which is important because of the Pope, not as a country. On the other hand so are we missing a main player as we actually don't have the official victor of the 30 year war, Sweden. The Peace of Westphalia involved Sweden, France and the Holy Roman Empire, with France having joined in on the Protestant side despite being Catholic.

I wonder if the Far East is supposed to be either Sweden or the Germanies in this story? Germany doesn't exist either yet and the 30 year war was fought over the princedoms of the Germanies, so as the fighting is taking place in the Far East so could it be seen as that. Sweden as the missing player of the war could be fitting as well and it's a interesting coincidence that the Swedish King died during the fighting and left a young girl as heir (consider Horizon).

Tercio isn't really an army formation, it's a part of the army about 1-3'000 men and everyone (in Europe) used it at this time. A line formation would simply be a line of Tercio side by side. Guns wasn't really what won battles at this time, they couldn't kill enough people to matter in a fight between infantry, so hand to hand with pikes was the main means to settle things. Cavalry was extremely strong at this time and the guns was there to help the infantry against cavalry. Artillery was strong too, but mostly as a means to force the other to be the one to attack. The Tercio formations was unwieldy and it was difficult to march across the field keeping them perfectly aligned and it would expose a weakness if they got miss aligned.

after saw battle between El Azul against our yuri angels

I realized that both Honda (Tadakatsu) and his wife maid are strong as hell. . .

they beat God of War easily (especially Honda) without took any damage

= = = =

anyway good episode, but I'm kinda disappointed because the BGMs for the first half and near the end are not suitable/match to the scene compared to the previous episodes

Well, the Dutch was what I would consider the most important of the minor participants while important as one of the main causes for the war (the 30 year one). But I was mainly wondering how they would re-enact The Peace of Westphalia without the leader of the winning side?

Dutch is only the minor role(sob)

Wouldn't it be more easier to track down who is the first who brought up the idea of this treaty. Then we will just link that guy to the Anime Horizon..

Lol Toori just running straight at the enemy without everyone else. BEst part wa using Adela as a shield. Asama's shot was awesome. Margot and Gachan had nice teamwork to take out the god of war. Let's hope Naito and Naruze can clear a path now. Neshiburn's speech was good as well.

Any female in Horizon that is given screen time in the show will be too awesome for us too handle. Beware!

Watched the subtitle, and I appreciate Neishinbara's speech more and more. For Knight and Nazure part, so it's the positive and negative power that caused that awesome last Itano circus.

Leader must lead their army into battle, and the subordinate will follow him aimlesslyfaithfully into the glorious battlefield(because they can't just leave him die meaninglessly). People are more willing to die fight for Toori because of Toori's trolling brave decision.

Heh Leroy Jenkins. I actually haven't seen that joke in a while

Great action this ep. The Dizzy girls fought a really tough Dogfight, if only Asama was thorough in her attack

I loved the way the formations changed when the trumpet sounded. It kinda looked like a video game I've been thinking though, did Adele have to stay inside the mecha? considering they were just using it as a shield, I commend Adele for actually staying inside the thing

But I was when I saw Kimi was sitting back having tea. I wanted to see more of her considering her performance last ep. But, I'm holding out for next ep, Mechanic girl and Neito look like a catastrophic combination

Preparations for war were done.
Strategies were made, even motivational speeches..
And off they went!
The angel like armors were really cool.

Adele in the mech suit was a great scene full of humour and at the same time cuteness with her reactions to the shots being fired and her mech suit being used as a wall they could all hide behind XD

Armies, giant mech suits, air skirmishes, all the confusing yet interesting political episodes were well worth the wait for this episode and upcoming episodes A good amount of action, and a lot more to look forward to in the next few episodes.

As I requested in my last post, I wanted everyone to have some time to shine. It seems likely that this will happen as we've already seen a number of them have their own action/talking scenes and to show of their abilities
