I'm not sure what the /NH is even supposed to do, but the code only works for me if I take it out. If it's there then AGTH doesn't even load with the game.

is working perfectly for me so long as I change AGTH to UserHookS. Try removing it?

At the start, it is the story of Kotarou's real origins, of how he came to be who he is - from an apathetic youth to the reluctant Guardian. The latter part of the route is the actual "Rewriting", based on the lessons the player learns from Moon Route and the heroines' routes. Terra Route brings it all together, as a parallel I point to the pivotal "Birth' chapter in Clannad or the time-travel scenes in Little Busters!

But the translation is at google level better than nothing at least. Anyway, just in case, someone knows a good page with Japanese grammar or stuff? I can buy a Kanji dictionary later.

It doesn't matter what choice you pick; to me that's a non-essential flag. The route flags are far more obvious, especially if you're still at the start of the game and all you have access to are Kotori's, Chihaya's and Lucia's routes. There's stuff like "Follow this girl" or "Get curious" or something like that, following the context of the scene.

Edit: I've been fiddling around with the "Yoshino button" ~armageddon~ but can't seem to get a decent rhythm going Just proves I'm bad at making remixes. Also, as a tip to you completionists out there, in order to fill out the Memory, you need to play on the weekends. A few time-sensitive quests can be picked up only on those times, and may become important should you wish to unlock the Oppai Route.

I got my hands on my copy of Rewrite First Edition on Tuesday. The alternate covers are nice, I thought it included only one but three options in great! I decided to use the Kotori one for now.

I have read it a lot since Wednesday. I tried to read it with physical dictionaries (don't ask why [Learn japanese better through tediousness?]) but with that it took me the whole day to get to the end of the first day. So going with ITH and Translation Aggregator. It is going quite slow though. 3 days of reading and I'm only at the part where

Kotarou learns the location of the Occult research classroom.

It probably goes without saying that I have lot of time until I get through it once. Maybe you could estimate how long one playthrough is?
It's hard to know which route I'll take, as I have only met two of the main heroines. Wasn't it that you needed to go through Kotori, Chihaya or Lucia before Akane or Shizuru? I could go for Chihaya first. Lucia is what I was most interested in beforehand, so I'm kind of saving her route for when I'm more used to reading it. But I'll see what happens.


By the way, the voice actor for Inoue reminded me of Marina Inoue. If it is actually true it would be fun.
About voice actors, there were actually many I recognize after looking into it. I would have never thought Kotori's VA is the one who did Homura in Madoka and Senjougahara in Bakemonogatari. She's becoming one of my favourite seiyuus.

Is there any news about a translation project or plans for starting one? I could help with it if necessary.

And another question, what are these paper sheets that were inside the game DVD case? Some kind of poll thing?

Finally Finished Terra route.....

Why the hell every fine VN that I played recently always left me with an ending that leaves much to be desired. (Eustiaaaa!)

Definitely calling for either "Rewrite Revise version" and "Kotarou After"

Judging by the seiyuu choice, somehow I'm pretty sure that they're going to animate this. If not I'd call them a fool for not capitalising this opp.



Anyway definitely a change of mood from the usual Key game but I could still easily identified some of the Key characteristic. The joke and pun is excellent not to mention the game could shift gear very seamlessly. Mood could go from light to intense and vice versa in just a matter of second. The protagonist clearly one of the best here. In fact I believe he's one of the appeal for the game. I could watch Kotarou and Yoshino scene all day. I mean come on - like when they actually running around the school naked covering their face - who didn't flop from their chair

In term of heoine route I prefer kotori. She's just so much fun and more solid as a character. She also got many powerful scene like with chibimosu and her parent. Could definitely feels the chemistry between him and Koutarou.

Second one would be Akane. Kotarou feels like a different person in this route but somehow I totally love it. Especially that scene when his aurora turn into a beast and he kills someone for the first time. That scene is really powerful. I guess I just love hero with tragic path.

Lucia route unexpectedly intense and frankly speaking scared me quite a bit. But to be honest both Kotarou and Lucia seems to drag the problem quite a bit. Many times I almost lost my temper at how dense kotarou and how stubborn Lucia are.

Chihaya route was quite fun. I especially love how Kotarou utilize it's power. But the romance department often led me to

Shizuru route is the one that I found the weakest. In term of romance it's clearly the opposite of Chihaya route but the event that being withhold feels like it being forced and absurd.


Last is Moon and Terra route. I become supicious the moment Kagari come out that Kotori is the not the main heroine and I was right. As a true route, Moon and Terra undoubtedly the best one for me. Kagari itself is a really interesting character. "Let's carve your name in history as a man who saves the world and touch my breast for the compensation " LOL They had some powerful moment alright but to be honest their interaction feels a little bit short and I want more. Not to mention the ending.......

Some of my complain is that how you could easily tell apart that some part of the route were written by someone else (this especially true in heroine route). Some scene clearly need CG to convey the feeling more. It'd be nice if they could gives some character faces (Takasago, Sakura, Suzaki, etc) and also VA to other minor character. It's not necessity but it would definitely enhance the game experience.


Overall An Outstanding game it only need some little tweak to make it even better (hence the "Rewrite Revise version" and "Kotarou After")

My God October the fifth was a bitch of a day to read through. I'm only on October the 7th, but trust me the 6th goes a hell of a lot faster and feels a hell of a lot better.

He belongs to that time. He is just much older in the other routes than we thought. It was hinted in the routes before:

+Kotori's route, it was said that Kotarou suffered a severe injury and was in a coma for a period of time.
+Chihaya's route, Sakuya mentions that Kotarou became a half demon (most likely from Kotori's druid power that saved him). Therefore, he ages at a much slower rate.
+Shizuru's route have the memory erasing drug that Shizuru can create.

Finally, Kotarou mentions how he remembers seeing some familiar faces before, like the camera buying scene at the beginning of the game and how the "stranger" was so friendly with him.

Minor bit that bugged me

Couldn't they have expended the tiniest bit of budget to create new sprites? What irks me is that it is implied that Chihaya after the true end is no longer a transfer student, yet she's still wearing that blazer, both in her sprite in the final scene and in the ending credits. And Shizuru! Shizuru! Didn't she say herself she only showed her heterochromia to close friends? By the end of Terra, those five were the closest of friends you could get! So why was she still wearing her eyepatch in the CG!? Huh!? Huh!?(unless somehow along the line they split up while growing up and only came together again when they reached high school)
In fact, a lot of minor characters need more than just a voice; in terms of CG diversity as a visual novel I'd rate this one as average.

I do love how the "quote" from the very start about "rewriting" her fate,

Doesn't only apply to any single heroine, but to all of them. That final scene + ending movie with that song really left me with a Key-like feeling of melancholy.

Edit to Haruchin: etalocohc84 hit it right on the head. In fact, Terra route allows you to go into the divergence.

Notice how the only choice in the route that isn't blatantly forcing you to choose is in the scene where Koutarou meets Kagari for the first time. Choosing any other choice other than the right one results in being cut to ribbons>coma>drugged>undergoing a personality change to the Kotarou we see in the main routes. At a whim, my fist time playing through Terra Route had me choose the other choices, since I hadn't saved, I had to go through skipping the first part all over again.

Late teens probably? I'd assume he was by the time he was recruited into Guardian. Kotarou as a young guy never met any of the girls - they hadn't been born. He was also fairly unsociable as Terra route indicated, and as Kotori route has implied. He is also peers with Imamiya and Nishikujou-sensei, which further cements his age as pretty far removed from then-elementary student Kotori-chan.
Think of the main routes of Rewrite as a literal "Bad End" scenario where Kotarou was foolish enough to get involved with Kagari so soon.
My speculation has the main "Trunk" where Kotarou is actually injured as the "first" or main story (sort of like in Clannad where Ushio died in the first world. )Then, during Moon Route, a solution to the planet's problem is found, leading to the events in the latter part of Terra, and the "Rewrite of fates".

Ixrec just started reading Rewrite a few days ago, so no. And besides, Amaterasu Translations' secret project is most likely Shikkoku no Sharnoth since:

1) Ixrec was dead set on translating it, even before he actually read it.
2) Sheeta, the only British member of Ammy, is the sole editor for their current project. (Sharnoth is set in London)
3) The project they're working on is rather short and they're almost done with it already.
4) It only took Ixrec two months to translate Inganock (Sharnoth's predecessor), and I assume Sharnoth is of similar length.
5) One of Amaterasu's members tagged the game on VNDB not too long ago.

Rewrite might very well be their next project if Ixrec end up liking it, though.
