Would be funny if this gets transferred over to A-1 Pictures too since P.A Works doesn't exactly have the greatest track record when it comes to disc profits. Then again wasn't the original Angel Beats like their most successful title ever by an exponential margin thanks to the Key brand? Again I just remember being utterly flummoxed by the plotline and not being particularly entranced by the parts I could make heads or tails of that did feel like bits and pieces and ideas from some larger project.

And I can remember who to blame anymore for it being 1 cour.

Huh. My first reaction was that this would be an announcement in regards to the long in development VN, coupled with a track record of countdowns being pretty anti-climactic, but if Aniplex is involved...
This might be an anime meant to promote the upcoming Visual Novel and Aniplex is cashing in on that, though what it could be about is anyones guess at this point. Maybe an adaption of the prequel material? Or a full-on remake, maybe 2-cour, that brings in some of the additional elements from the VN into the anime as well as featuring more character routes animated? As someone who really enjoyed the original anime, I'd gladly watch either though the latter scenario would definitely have me more excited .

I'm not sure, actually. Remember when they had the voice actors of Toaru Majutsu no Index over at the Kazuma Kamachi 10th Anniversary Event? They revealed the anime adaptation of another of Kamachi's works instead of Index Season III.

(Technically I guess they also haven't said that it'd be an anime, but with Aniplex involved, we can basically assume that's the case.) I'm actually going to edit the thread title just to be a bit more vague about it, since we don't quite know yet what it'll be. It may very well end up being an Angel Beats sequel or spin-off, but at this point we don't know.

A new Aniplex x Key project probably suggests an adaptation of an existing Key work if it's not going to be Angel Beats or Kud Wafter.
Which, quite probably, it's going to be either Rewrite or Planetarian. And I hope to god this is Planetarian.

I'm quite sad that it doesn't look as if we're going to see Kud Wafter, actually. It's my favorite of all the LitBus spare parts, and the discs for both LB and Refrain certainly sold well enough.

I did actually enjoy Angel Beats is spite of a lot of issues so I'll keep an eye out on this one. But it seems there's very little to go on at the moment to make an impression other than the obvious waifu marketing promotional picture.
Is there any more information than just this?
