AFAIK Maria wasn't raped. The only one that got raped there was the other girl forgot her name.

As for the obsession, it probably has something to do with what O told him.

Spoiler for :

O was created by Maria's wish, but there were two things that was created one was O then the other was the Knight Maria wished/hoped for to save her from her stupidity. The moment Maria met Kazuki she probably unconsciously designated him as the Knight + the fact with Nana and how he helped her back then.

Now Kazuki's actions obviously shows borderline obsession but it may be just the Knight "role" that's making him do all these things. Do remember that from Kazuki's monologue he's clearly aware of what he's doing but at the same time can't do anything about it because Maria became he's number 1 priority.

And right now he's basically the same with O in which, he is just doing what the Knight was supposed to do. He's painfully aware of the shit he's doing and how he's ruining his everday life. The guy needs a break, a happy one ( too bad this series is dark, can't see the light at the end of the tunnel )

cant wait till the translation for this final volume. Hope it will be a blast to a masterpiece of 6 volumes so far.

Meh, I honestly don't expect much from this last volume. To me, this novel went downhill after volume 1, which was great by the way.

The MC can just end up with O, Maria can go die for all I care...

ehhh. I'd be alright with that ! I think ! If everyone was fine with it.

But seriously, the last two volumes turned the drama up so high at this point, I just kind of want to hear what happened at the end so I can just have some closure and move on.

Especially if the end isn't much of a happy one.

I understand your feeling. Bad ending always give me a bad aftertaste and i remembering it for weeks. Though actually there is a rather high chance this is a happy end based on the illustrations.

I'm the same way with it bothering me for weeks. Sometimes it'll be in my thoughts before I try to sleep, or make me anxious! It's terrible. A huge part of me wants the ending posted in spoilers, or maybe I'll just read the last chapter first when it comes out. I want to peek to know if it's safe, or if I should run far, far away.

Yeah, I read the first nine volumes of Toradora in a week, then I spent another week working up the courage to read the last book. (Being an Ami-shipper, I knew I wouldn't get the ending I wanted.)

It's been 2 years since I last read this novel but, as far as I remember, Maria was not raped. Though she did try her best to be raped... seriously, this girl's self-sacrificing personality annoys me to no end.

I just reread the series last month, and Maria definitely wasn't raped, and I don't think Yuuri was either. In that iteration of the game, Yuuri was forcing Kamiuchi to do her bidding, and she made it seem like she got raped so she could manipulate Kazuki. It's possible Kamiuchi demanded some compensation from her, but book doesn't really say either way.

It's been so long since I've read this, but I do recall having this train of thought. Does anyone else think a lesson could be taken from Medaka Box here? I think the protagonist should tell Maria to take her "help" and shove it up her ass. It's not helping anyone.
