Yeah, kind of surprised they were willing to go that far. It is a good thing though to actually show more of the seriousness going on here. Things are going to get pretty crazy though going ahead. The negotiations have been proceeding about as well as they could. To be honest they'd probably be better off if they could kidnap that Emperor and show him that demonstration.
Neither that guy or his son have a clue what is actually going on. There is literally two paths for them. They get massacred by an enemy who has more advanced weaponry than they can imagine or they make peace. Of course not all that surprising....Time travel to that kind of time period and you would probably have the same issue. Regardless, heck of a start. I thought we might have to jump right into the dragon situation, but the condition at the capital is pretty huge. What timing though. So many ways an empire like this might interpret an earthquake. Really will get complicated now.

Yaaaay, glad this show's back.
Zorzal's playing the disgusting and cruel prince role real nicely. That scene caught me off guard fo sho. And I'm digging the vibes with the JSDF and government officials mingling with the Imperial folk. It was about time we had something like that happen. Also, Suguwara's a goddamn lady killer. :P Next episode should be real good. |

Saw the reactions coming a mile away. Whiplash effect, anyone? People would never believe back in season one the rape scene would be shown, but I was pleasantly surprised. I guess that's what happens when A1 decided to sterilize the content in the previous season.

Welp there was definitely some censorship, kinda expected.
A refreshing return for GATE imo. The three main girls also spotted including Rory. Pina's role in this episode made me laugh more than expected. I don't like her brother much though with his personality. The new OP song is okay, personally I liked the previous one better.

It's good to be back, but I was a bit disappointed about how rushed this felt in terms of manga to anime events in Akusho. Bessera's take down was a pretty blatant sacrifice with him being terminated with a frag and not being ripped limb from limb by Akusho itself.
Tyuule's rape as best as the usual censoring could do, audio made up for it. As much as the anime seemed to gloss over or take away, looking at it from the manga, I did like the addition of the Myuute and Yao scene. |

Well, if "The JSDF is Awesome: The Anime" isn't back and just as fun and ridiculous as ever! It feels like we just got dumped right back into this world and I don't mind.
The prince is a piece of crap, as vain and cruel as they come, but I'm pretty sure that one day an idiot like him is going to get his comeuppance from a source he wasn't at all expecting. We'll see where the story continues as the JSDF continue to show everyone who's boss. I don't know why, but I thought of this show the other day, when I was reading a chapter of "Ajin" and one of the characters was talking about the most powerful combatants in Japan. Someone immediately said, "The JSDF?" But the guy shot him down and said the JSDF have never seen real combat and don't know how to do anything. I cracked up and wished I could have introduced the two worlds!

The SFX for the mortars firing and rounds impacting was very realistic. Well done. I imagine the sound people got to visit mortars on the range in Japan.
