Hayate no Gotoku manga (raw discussion only)

Anyway, if anyone wants a summary:

Hayate and Athena had a discussion because Hayate asked her to go with him to the outside world. Athena told him "where to? to you parents house? there's nowhere for us to go but here," then she said the conversation was over and went to sleep.

On the next day, Hayate wanted to do something to make up with her for the discussion on the previous night. He meets Izumi and she tells him the best way to deal with those situations would be a present as a proof of love. Then she lends him some lottery tickets but tells him those are not the presents, but to be used to get one. Afterwards, Hayate goes to play the lottery and loses misserably.

Then, when he's about to give up, he runs into a couple which had a discussion because, apparently, the guy wanted to give his girl a lottery ticket as a present. Since she didn't want it, Hayate asked them if he could have it. The guy said he could if he carried their (grocery) bags.

After that Hayate appears in the mansion and gives Athena the present, which happened to be a ring (he did tell her that was a proof of love). She said he was silly because that ring was too big for her. She also said that was only one ring, and that couples should have two. Then she took out of her pocket(?) a ring which was also supposed to be worn by adult men, and she said one day both of them would wear those rings together. Then Hayate said he and Athena would live together with his family, and then he ran back home to tell her parents about Athena.

By the end of the chapter, we see the ring Hayate gave Athena in the floor, and we can also read Hayate's thoughts in which he wonders what happened to the impressive smile Athena showed him that day (the day he gave her the ring).

There's another group translating these newest chapters (they've done 179-180, just released 181-183). Though I don't believe I'm at liberty to specify info on them (I'm unfamiliar with Animesuki's rules). Just giving a heads up.

The groups name is mcdonald, not sure about their site, but it's probably on mangaupdates.

They're only doing speedscans to keep up with the latest chapters, so it's best not to expect high quality, amazingly well translated chapters. That said, they're doing a pretty good job as far as i can see. More than anything i'm just grateful someone is actually bothering to do it.

yeah but what about Maria in the mirror!!! did A-tan knew her?so Hayate didn't recall when he saw her again in the begining of the manga.

^He didn't remember Izumi either. It isn't really odd; after all, he only saw a picture of a young Maria, and he barely got to meet a young Izumi.

I wonder if Izumi remembered him, though.

Maybe at the end of this whole arc something happens that made him forget everything because he seemed to have forgotten so much about this time period until he saw Nagi looking like Athena and then it jogged his memory.

is it just me or hayate no gotoku world get more weirder

Yeah there's a super robot, talking tiger, ghost, special move, etc but a world where the flow of time differs from our world, a mirror where you can see everything, a child who can play swords really good and already have a high intelligence

now I wonder what will appear next

I prefer for Hata-sensei to just concentrate on Hayate's "normal" life as a butler then makes this story more SF

It's not as if we have seen magic in the plot before, e.g. Isumi's powers, or the chapter where Hayate ended up in Nagi's past.

That does not look good... 184 was already foreboding that they would soon never be able to see each other again.

I would not be surprised if some sort of forceful memory erasing plot is put forth on Hayate, either that, or he supressed his memories himself due to pain.

Would you be kind enough to give us a summary of 185?

So that means that when he spent that half a day outside... 6 days passed in the Royal Garden. Very strange. No wonder she was so mad at him.

Did Hayate's parents just pawn the ring Athena gave him? lol. It would suck if this was the prelude to her leaving him.

Uhh... Hayate can be pretty stupid/naive at times...

Hayate met his parents, they asked him where had he been in the past 5 days and Hayate thought "huh? 5 days? I've been out for about 2 months." Anyway, his parents showed barely any concern for him, talked some non-sense and Hayate got angry, he told them how some of their ways (like using the money that was supposed to be used for his lunch at kindergarten, or stealing money from other peope) were wrong. It seemed as if his point went through, since his parents were talking about returning all that money, etc. Then his mother told him to work hard and Hayate was happy. After that his father told him to hand him that ring, since he'd keep it in a special place.

Hayate then returned to Royal Garden and told Athena he had told his parents about her, and that they could live together. Then, to make the story short, Athena told him his parents were a waste of time, they'd only make his life hell. She also asked him about the ring and Hayate told her his father would keep it in a special place. Then, we get to see a scene where Hayate's father uses that ring to pay for a meal. Athena said that ring was important for two people (that was sort of vague, or I simply didn't understand what she said), to what Hayate replied he could explain that to his father. Athena told him when would he stop being too naive. Anyway, they kept on exchanging words until Athena told asked him to forget his parents and to remain there with her; Hayate got angry and told her she didn't understand anything since she didn't have parents; when he realised the stupid thing he had just said... all hell broke loose. Athena told him he was the one who didn't understand anything, and then some sort of skull (Hayate said it looked like a hallucination) appeared behind her.

Athena´s most likely a vampire, though i don´t understand why many people don´t have their suspicions about this, THERE IS A FRIGGIN COFFIN IN THE BASEMENT LOL
