The game has been described as a full fledged action game for the franchise.
The protagonist is, as we suspected, Makoto's sister, Naegi Komaru. Also, the article seems to imply that Makoto, Hajime and even Monokuma (real one I guess) won't be present in the game.

We probably will need the actual famitsu scans to figure more about the game and DR3 as well.

As far as it goes, AnotherEpisode looks like it is happening either during DR1 or between DR1 and SDR2.

Naegi's house was a wreck in the DVD so this is probably about his sister dealing with the apocalypse.

^We'll probably have to wait until more info comes around first, but I think SDR2 spoiler talk will be fine since this game seems to be an "interequel" of sorts, anyway. Plus, the last prequel story we had (Zero) literally features the first game's endgame villain right on the first page, so this game probably won't pull any punches in that regard, either.....

Pretty sure it's the latter. I mean, didn't the trailer even show Fukawa (in her Syo personality anyway) as a playable character? She still would've been locked inside Hope's Peak if Another Episode took place during the first game's events.

Was Naegi's sister always that big? I certainly don't remember her having that kind of presence in the video clip on the CD in DR1.

According to the guidebook she's taller than her brother.

Plus since this is (probably) set after DR1, it's natural she's gotten bigger than in the video from before DR1 events.

I wouldn't be surprised if she shows up, but I would be surprised if they are the same person.

Another concerning matter is the title of the game Zettai Zetusbou Shojo= Absolute Despair Girl and we know how absolute her despair was. I'm probably overthinking things but we can't deny the possibility.

But Spike Chunsoft isn't the type to repeat plot elements. Just like their 999 and VLR series.

They applied the first game plot twists to the second game but revealed it in the very beginning.

If the promotion picture is canon, many things need an explanation. Hinata is Hinata, Usami is Monomi, Nanami is there...and Naegi's sister's name keep making me see it as Komaeda...

Seeing how she has showed up for both games, and in zero, I think this is a recurring theme - thus I am not surprised if she shows up in the shooter, or in 3.


I think the promo picture is just trying to show the 2 existing games with the new one. I can't see how Monomi (not Usami) or Hinata would fit the timeline in between, for AnotherEpisode.

I'm just wondering what's up with her new bangs (no longer straight), lower eyelashes, and new ahoge. I get the time that's passed could've changed her appearance, but it just seems odd to suddenly acquire an ahoge.

Syo also seems to have acquired an ahoge with her new look.

I also worry for that pose, especially when you can see the legs are also the same in the bigger photo. But then again, her arm's the opposite, so it's sort of 'mirrored' instead.

I actually think it would be very interesting (and just plain cool) if this game's bosses were the Despair-infected SDR2 cast. Like maybe this game would tell the story of how they were all subdued and taken to Jabberwock Island for their "rehabilitation". Still, I guess that also leaves the question of whether or not Komaru became part of the Future Foundation (and she doesn't seem to be someone with a SHSL talent, so....
