It's a shame to hear that this anime adaptation will mostly be new material, though i've read quite a bit of the manga so i can say it makes quite a bit of sense. It's already been mentioned just how much gore there is in the manga, not to mention some of the more disturbing scenes. Looks like they're going to keep the same basic story, so i'm all open for new material set up --- especially going by the staff line-up. Also it's great to hear a new Angela song.

If the material was too violent for them, then they should have chosen another title. Hopefully, the violent parts can be reinserted into the DVD release if it's not totally original material.

Have you seen how violent the manga can be? If so then you can agree with me that i'd rather not look at an anime adaptation with those taken out. There would be no action at all in the series if it went that way.

Haven't read the manga but that pic seems to imply body parts not attached to their normal places, possibly Elfen Lied level.

The opening has that nice dark sound to it. I like it.

But this will already be better because it looks like the fights will have animation.

Yeah, ofcourse though, since the monk seems more interesting he will obviously get less screentime than the "normal guy." From the premise, I'm looking for action not lots of distractions from it.

Usually I pick up a lot of series which leaves me little time to watch . But this season I have decided to handpick a very few anime so I can dedicate all my time into it . Being a fan of supernatural this anime stuck me the most . I had heard about this anime couple of weeks back but was too lazy to post . With Oct 2 drawing closer I just cant wait

Uwah... It seems I seriously overestimated this anime...
As far as ep1 goes: The good things: -Animation; nicly done, as I expected -I guess the ED is cool to listen to, once a week Bad: -Geez... The two main characters (Oori and Makina) are so monotone (棒読み), it's laughable. Actually, I did laugh. -Attempted comedy is poor -Story seems to have potential, but it wasn't impressive this episode and from both this episode and preview, I was reminded of that Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou. Spoiler for this episode:
Overall, I'll see what happens next, since it wasn't too boring, but from just the first episode, I can't look forward to much other than good animated action scenes.

Just got around to watching it. Really underwhelmed.
Saying it has lots of action is being... uh... rather generous. ToraDora is about 60 seconds short of having as much action as this. What action it does have isn't exactly particularly well directed or choreographed either. It literally feels like they went down a checklist of Gainax cliches, made sure they did all of them as quickly as possible, and then just had Makina tackle the monster. And yeah... I'm with Serenade, the voice acting was abysmal, but it was amusing to see them try to jam Horie Yui into as many roles as possible. |
