Lol even Hakumen's posture has a good reason behind it, all this years of existence fearing the Spear and aptly pointed out by Tora. The appearance of Reiko's father was great but the other girl's father appearing with a whole airplane was a tad silly.

Series' finale:

Nice, they finally managed to defeat that Hakumen after all the buildup and pain it inflicted. Good finale, really enjoyed the overall execution of it. And despite some rushing, I think the show did justice at presenting the story from their point of view.

The very ending had a funny tease though lol. Meanwhile, I think the show was good and going to miss it for sure.

Now you know Ushio's awesomeness. He's so good, even his dead allies return to help out.
The part with Nagare and Hiyou, there should have been more people. But their stories were cut so they were left out.

And since they seem to have left it out, I'll let you know Kirio's Kuin was lost before Shigure showed up.

I loved the manga. For a long time, it was my favorite completed long series.

Then, my all-time favorite series ended as well and pushed it to second place.

How the f did Kuin die at that off screened -_-.

Bad enough that Tora lost but Kuin too. None of the spoilers mentioned this nor the wiki .

I love this anime adaptation of Kazuhiro Fujita's probably most famous work. I hope we'll see anime adaptation of Karakuri Circus too.

What a finale, so much going on, with Hakumen gouging her eyes out to Tora using his body to mask the Beast Spear, Kyou and Nagare turning up from the afterlife to help in the fight, and of course it's bittersweet both with Tora passing on, the youkai using themselves to stop Japan sinking, and with Mayuko feeling saddened by hamburgers because of the affiliation with Tora.

On the whole this was a brilliant series.

I loved the ending. I am amazed that they managed to cut so much from the manga and still have such a powerful emotional ending.

Mayuko was really the big loser here. She lost Ushio and then Tora died. Her heart got ripped out, stomped on, then run through a blender all while being the sweetest person in the show.

Besides the odd exclusion of Kuin's death, this was an excellent, emotional finale to one of the best shounens out there.

well to be fair if you watched til end end(credits) he "come back later", he just respawn again some time later then not was really a "true lost".

well this serie was really good that second season was really strong complete focused on the battle with hakumen at almost non stop all the second season was really a big dark tone unlike the first season where we could get some "breath episodes", this is what happen when you have to turn like 200 chapters in 38 episodes they really did a good job to give us a complete anime

8.5/10 just because of the needed cuts if we had some more episdes like another 26 could be even better and i could give a 10/10

Excellent, excellent, excellent.

For me … for me this will go down as one of the few truly shounen series I was able to watch through to the end and enjoyed every single minute of it. Shounen as a genre is a hard sell for me, which was one of the reasons I was so surprised to see this series click so quickly and so early on!

Many thanks to Mappa for such great work on this one!

I would give it a solid 9/10. Definitely one of the best series of the season for me - right up there with Concrete Revolutio: Last Song and Flying Witch. ^^

The finale didn't disappoint. Hakumen becoming hatred incarnate after blinding itself was poignant after it's origin was revealed. Can't helped but feel for it since it truly did not have a choice to change itself because of its' nature.

Tora's story got resolved really well just like Hyou's did. "Hatred breeds nothing" indeed.

Bravo, Ushio and Tora. Easily one of my favorite series in the last few years.

I'm also surprised that you like this series that much. IIRC you were kinda on the fence during the early episodes .

Anyway, this is a good adaptation that boosted by the author's genuine effort to use what was available well.

One of the best final arcs i ever saw in this type of shonens. Well done! Hakumen was a terrific villain and all the build up made to fight him in this season really paid off. Even those episodes back in the first season that felt like filler or away from the main story were actually important for the final battle against Hakumen. It was never about Ushio's power but, instead, Hakumen was defeated because of all the relationships and union Ushio built through the first season.

And i have to mention the Openings for this anime. I really like that singer. it screamed 90s all over the place

Ushio's young mom x Ushio's old dad.... feels so weird, lol.

Anyways, a nice ending, almost at least, Tora did sorta died... tho the end says Tora's suppose to some day come back as Youkai... but isn't Tora already sorta Youkai even tho he was originally Human? Or does he still count as a Human even tho he's a Monster-type beast thing?

And Hakumen turns into a baby human... ok... that was unexpected.
