Now, that's how the digital world should look like. And we're going straight to Sora, and maybe much more familiar territory in terms of pacing.

Gotta say, that omegamon fight was pretty darn good.

Disappointing that Takeru and Hikari aren't joining in on this part of the adventure although I do like the idea of splitting the cast in two groups with Yamato being stuck with Jou and Mimi in the digital world.

So Omegamon doesn't talk after all. It's like if Agumon and Gabumon spoke though.

Also, I'm glad that the relationship Tai and Kojiro is being developed rather than forgotten in favor of Sora for this episode. The first episode of the reboot had the two kids befriending ridiculously fast.

This might found repetitive but Tai's characterization still feels different than in the late 90s. Maybe it's because of the scenario?

I'm still not exactly sure what we're going for with this. But, at least the digital world looks the way it should. There was really no telling if they were going to make a proper digital world or if the story would take place mostly in that generic digital space they spent the first few episodes fighting in.

Not bad though.

Lots of those twitter comments talking about how they miss Kitaro
I don't blame them, Kitaro was pretty fun.

I thought Snimon was a perfect level Digimon considering how easily it defeated Garudamon on the original series, turned out that he was just an adult level Digimon.

That was alright. Sora is of course a nice bundle of positive energy. And it is nice to see the digital world looking like it should.

It was before the digivolutionary level got the final say at who has a place of fighting whom. In the original series there seemed to exist a concept that even within the same level there is a huge margin of how strong or weak a digimon can be. Adult level Numemon and Bakemon were about as weak as a child level digimon while adult level Angemon destroyed perfect level Phantomon and knocked Vamdemon on his knees with the same attack (they came up with an excuse of special advantage midway into the next season).

I know it's hitting broken but man this reboot feels more lighthearted. Tai's actions could have been considered reckless while Sora expressed no fear at all about the Digimon World or any enemy to the point she was quite brave.

Just compare it to the drama from season 1 where the kids had no idea where they were and we had some serious topics like Yamato's feelings about his divorced parents, or even Tai during the Mugendramon/Machinedramon arc in regards Hikari

Still, the animation and fight sequences are quite nice for not using repeated footage and adding movement.

Wow, this was quite an episode. We got strange lore that might be reference to the first series and how the cast might be related.

So far, the staff seems to be making a decent-to-good job.
Gotta hope it only gets better...

Yeah, I don't want to be too hard on it. They are clearly trying and doing their own thing. But if you are going to reboot something, you are going to draw comparisons. I don't think it is because the original did it a certain way and thus it is better. But, I just liked the approach for the original. Throw the kids into the deep end. Let them handle being confused and dealing with a crisis in their own way. Here, no one seems concerned about going into the digital world, even someone like Sora who wasn't planning on it is fine. Heck, they even got a big explanation almost instantly so they know what is up and have a decent idea of what to do.

Still, while the original had a more interesting approach...this can still be good . The action is just fine. And unlike the darn movie series they seem to remember that digimon can talk after they evolve past the rookie level! Things continue to move along.

Wasn't impressed by ep. 5. Might've been expecting too much after the first two.
