Well I gotta say, whatever this series is doing sure is working for me. I think I loved this episode more than expected...

The "whole" episode was pretty much based on Tatsuki and it was damn about time that they did focus on her. Whilst the humor here wasn't that much, what we did get though I found to be really good...probably not in a hilarious way but definitely the laughs were great.

Tatsuki losing her temper countless times then falling victim to all things cute...I find that rather attractive and hence one of the reasons why I like her so much. Though in fact, I pretty much like all of the cast in this series as they are all unique, all funny and all have interesting personalities.

Tatsuki's story is as expected to be rather sentimental but that is still all good.

Then the stuff after the ED just made me speechless...now that was hilarious

I don't think I can ever get enough of this type of crack "theatrical" spoofs :3

Ep6 is another enjoyable episode. This show just keeps on quietly entertaining me with nice humor and good characters.

The series is growing on me. I went into it with some expectations, was thrown off by the gag timing pace - but its got a nice flavor to it as the characters are given some complexity outside the usual stereotypes.

Just finished episode 5 and I gotta say, I don't think I can really keep up with this show anymore. The character interactions in episode 5 were just so bland that it became irritating and the timing of the comedy was so far off the mark that it simply wasn't funny. These problems, combined with the fact that I've recently picked up Toradora!, a school life comedy that has managed to deliver both in the character department as well as the comedy, means that Hyakko is but a shell compared to Toradora! As it stands, Hyakko will also invite far too many comparisons to other series that are just flat-out better. Ichigo Mashimaro? Hidamari Sketch? Sketchbook? All of those three manage to beat this show by a large order of magnitude.

Seeing that I have an unhealthy number of shows on my plate this season, Hyakko gets the axe.

Right, I'll carry on watching and report if they get the hang of pace and timing. I've already dropped enough shows that Hyakko is fairly safe on my queue.
Though even I'll admit that it is "almost" "on the verge of" "nearly" a nice package of entertainment - I end up rooting for it to keep trying.

I dropped a bunch of shows already, close to dropping Index now, but its hanging on another week. Couple others I need to catch up on still, but this one I've been watching as soon as the subs come out. Definitely still enjoying this one.

Terrible OP, crappy animation, nice drawing, and great idea development. I've just loved this show.

Ep 1 does take my attention, Ep 2 set my expectation bar down to the level that i ended up really enjoying 3-4-5.

Seriously, it's not the best series of the season, but it's the most enjoyable to watch for my case. Once again realised what i value and what i enjoy sometime is not in the same line.

And for those who already watched ep 5, you heard Ushio sing this ultra Engrish song. But it's not actually Engrish. She's actually singing/reciting the chinese zodiac. If you listen carefully, you'll hear:
'ne, ushi, tora, u(from usagi; rabbit), tatsu, mi, uma(horse), hitsuji, saru(monkey), tori(bird), inu, i(boar)' and at the "Neck call were in I yacht", I'm pretty sure she's actually singing "neko wa inai yo" which translates to
"There is no cat". Then she sings "Twelve Beast Gods" which pretty much proves it XD, followed by "Jewel needs sea", but she's saying "jyuunishi", which is basically japanese for "chinese zodiac". I love this song. XDDD
Kudos to Kaido Yuuko (Ushio) for making it sound Engrishy. XD

The word that I use is "offbeat", both in terms of the timing (which works for me) and in terms of the characters and how they interact with me. Humor is indeed subjective, so I sorta find how they do things more engaging here than in, say, Toradora. I like both shows, but personally I prefer Hyakko better.

And to add to the above, I'd say that absurd comedy is more of Zetsubou Sensei/Shinbo comedies' cachet. Hyakko's comedy is, as BigN says, more on the offbeat path.

Me, I'm not really thrilled with the Hyakko's comedic execution and my preference comes closer to Shinbo's type of humor than the mega-slapstick that Hyakko's been employing. Doesn't mean that Hyakko doesn't have its moments, but they're still too few and far in between for me to want to continue further.

Very funny episode. Laughed a lot more than the previous episode. Iya~, good, good. Three comedy shows in one day, best one to watch.

Sadist Kitsune... Eyes are really scary...

But a surprisingly better brother than Torako believes he is?! Dun dun dun
But what is with the pin in his ears...?

Toraka, kawaii yo, Torako

Ayumi=Pantsu, this episode. Yet WE see nothing...

And at the end, Torako's sister appears?! Which doesn't seem to mean anything for now, since the next episode preview doesn't even have a sign of her.

And... to finish the episode, we get a short scene with the two characters who have voice actors at the Shikabane Hime level... ( -_-)

But seriously, while I don't hate him, I certainly don't like his attitude. He is such a mean brother or a person in general...just how the heck can you say it is a joke after lifting up Ayumi's skirt? I think punching him in the face as a reflex can also be called a joke then in that case

And it is just weird to see Torako so helpless before her brother...give me back my usual Torako ;____;

Is the blue haired girl really their sister as well? I don't hear him say anything that could be interpreted that they are related though her eye colour does have the same blue hue. Plus she looks like she could be my type of likable character
