Episode 2
Okay I think I'm going to like this for all that gore and violence. These guys are pretty brutal. The elves were under attack and Toyohisa sliced apart all those attackers. I liked how he threw his sword at the commander and then threw himself at him and then started to hit his head with the sheath of his sword. That last part was pretty brutal. And then he had the elves finish him off because it was their revenge. And the Octoberists are the one who maintain the Drifters sent in by the weird glasses guy and are working for Easy. And it's a fight between Easy and that glasses guy for whatever reason. The comedy felt a bit better here because it was more well placed than in the last episode. If anything, I think all that violence might keep me here. |

Ep.2 was very good, Nobunaga's got teh tactics down! Since the premise seems to be a fight between two the transcendent beings, Murasaki and Easy, I half-expect the drifters to be made up of Japan's finest leaders, tacticians and soldiers, picked out of all times. The comedy is the show's weakness. It is understandable, but just not really funny. |

SUPERIOR JAPANESE STEEL IN ACTION
Well that was a fun episode! I had no problems with the humor this time around since none of it felt random and instead play off the situation. We got a better idea where the overall plot and why the Difters which is to act as pawns in a greater power struggle. Looking forward to how Scropio and Hannibal contribute to this whole mess. And damn the OP is pretty bangin. |

Na nana na na na...na na nana naa... Na nana na na na...na na nana naa...
Catchiest OP in a long time. And I love the "bouncing" motif... ^_^ Also love that with some adaptations, the character designers try to either genericise the original designs or give them their own spin, but this series is 100% unapologetically Kouta Hirano's designs. Our introduction to the guy on the other end of the crystal ball (whose name I won't mention yet) is pretty much right from the pages of the manga. And the series character designer has a pretty decent resume, so it's not like he wouldn't be trusted to take a few liberties...

I'm also surprised seeing this uncensored. Thank the gods for that! The animation is very good too. The OP is catchy and has a cool art style. This has everything to be a nice and faithfull adaptation (they could remove the misplaced humor tho ).
I already seen it in the OVA but damn that massacre Shimazu gave to the soldier was brutal and satisfying to see. The guy was asking for it! I'm pleased to see a story with such a badass trio as protagonists instead of little kids trying to save the world. This type of diversity is needed in anime but unfortunately we rarelly see these type of chars nowadays. That is why i love so much both Berserk and Drifters. Too bad Berserk was not lucky enough to get a decent animation unlike this title. I'm excited for episode 3! Last edited by DemonneoPT; 2016-10-16 at 16:30. |

As for the animation, let's not forget that the first two episodes were basically the OVA released earlier this year, plus some additions. So they were made on OVA budget. I wouldn't be surprised if the general quality went down from episode three on... (although I certainly hope it won't!)

Scipio and Hannibal would make a good comedy duo.
What exactly is the Elves' language? And how does the fansubbers understood them? Toyohisa is brutal, as always. And Nobunaga is back again with his favorite hobby. Octobrist really sounds communist to me.

That was ... awesome! The humor keep working for me, too. Not necessary but it helps to break a bit the otherwise heavy brutality the show is providing and very likely will provide.
Just a small complain, what this show is lacking right now is a woman among the drifters, (and no he doesn't count ), maybe not Joan of Arc again. Also I'm very intrigued by the two "players". Side note, the scene when Toyohisa gave his katana to the elder elf to claim his revenge reminded me of 2001 space odyssey.

Episode 3:
Damn this episode was intense. Kinda amusing how they got fighter aircraft in this alternate world setting. Adding dragons and all the other shenanigans gave me some GATE vibes. Glad to see they gave Abe no screen time as he led a pretty entertaining battle. The music is dope and the violence is pretty evident. Such a badass entry: Spoiler:
Also, that segment after the ED song is pretty funny.
