Wowww~ I know I'm old-fashioned, but I thought this was really cool. A bit choppy on the writing/directing front, but really cool anyway. That fight scene toward the end? Yessss. All that posing and ridiculous monsters and ridiculous weapons and signature Nightow designs? Yeeesssss. Even if this is going to be episodic all the way (that I seriously doubt) I'll eat it up with a spoon each week.

Also, really nice voice cast there (no surprise), it's always good to hear Ishida Akira ham it up, and aww, it's been long since I last heard Nakai Kazuya in a main role so that's an extra bonus.

That said, I had a feeling throughout that something was lacking, and I realized only toward the end - I was missing Imahori Tsuneo's music! After Trigun and Gungrave I grew to associate Nightow-related anime with Imahori's fantastic music. Sigh, too bad. Not that the soundtrack is bad, not at all, but Imahori would've been even better, especially with this setting.

That Sakuga near the end was godlike (was that Yutapon?).
Also, I didn't realize beforehand that Miyano was in this, hah. One more reason to keep watching.

Pretty much sums it up for me too.

Hmm....

Yeah ... I kinda like what I saw here ... interesting and engaging, in a lot of ways. Will definitely give more eps a try.

Strong initial ep to be sure.

The aliens are living nicely with the humans?! Well, as Vash said. This world is full of... LOVE AND PEACE!

Also, I still didn't get what was Leo's ability.

The white haired dude reminds me to Dingo from Zone of the Enders

The dialogue sucks, no surprise there, but the production values are stellar and the fight scenes, though they lack physicality, are raw and flashy. The stylized aesthetics of the show are what impressed me the most. There's attention to detail in every frame as they went to great lengths in capturing New York as it was during the prohibition era and then fused it with aliens, monsters and technomysticism.

I got some serious Baccano vibes from it. Hopefully the show turns out to be as good as that one.

Great episode for premiere.

I just love how they captured the dark urban city feeling along with the soundtrack. This is by Bones so I don't expect them to adapt everything but so far definitely impresses me. And these...eyes, yeah we will definitely see more usage of this in the future.

Pretty good stuff! Animation super good. The wackiness reminds me a bit of Durarara!, except that people actually die in this city. I just hope it doesn't take a surreal slice of life approach, as did Durarara!, cause I'm bored of that kind of storytelling already.

As for me, it kinda reminded of Gintama, but only in New York. Cast doesn't really help XD
But I admit, that was very cool. Especially that action scene near the end.

Action scene near the end was pretty cool. That looks like a real crappy city to live in and the tone reminds me a bit of Durarara. Curious what Leo's eyes can do exactly.

Just read the first 3 chapters which they are adapted, they have rushed a lot omg and there are a lot of moments that they didn't include in this first episode.
The episode confused me, but i fuking liked it, i don't know why...maybe because it's been a long time since we haven't got a show like this one, and the action was very good, especially the last scene: http://a.pomf.se/eqgwbp.webm
Anyone noticed the Pacific Rim's reference?

You know, this show won't be getting score for subtlety, that's for sure. But when it comes to pure entertainment value, it wins by a large margin compared to any other spring shows premiering so far. The animation is stellar, the fighting sequences are super cool, and i especially like the sheer absurdity of living in a fantastical city where nothing's normal and scenery chewing is commonplace. Overall i enjoyed it and excited for the next episode.

Nice action near the end there! That city is just downright depressing to live in. Scenery reminds me of Men In Black. Will follow this for now.
