I think those are Macrophages. Those are the Maid we saw when our RBC got the wrong door. They are the biggest white cells so obviously they got the biggest chest as well as a Maid Uniform with a very large skirt. But they are super effective, like the strongest white cells there is, I think.

Eh, it depends on the situation. Having worked with both macrophages and neutrophils in research I'd say it really depends on which bacteria we're talking about. Bugs like Mycobacterium tuberculosis can live happily inside macrophages and Streptococcus pyogenes express genes that can inactivate/thwart neutrophil killing mechanisms. Both cell types are "first-responders" to infection, and their activation helps the rest of the immune system kick in and clear an infection and prevent future reinfection. That's why having a defective neutrophil or macrophage response makes you highly susceptible to all sorts of microbes that normally wouldn't cause problems in a healthy individual. You want all of your immune cells to be in ship-shape to tackle infections, though overzealous immune response can also make life really hard (case in point, allergies and autoimmune diseases).

Yeah thiss show is so unique and fun, the platelets episode and how the bacteria forgot what they made and how all the cells were trapped, all this was funny.

And now I wouldn't be surprised to find a unique one with dark hair and round glasses... Bonus points for inclusion of what appears to be an umbrella.

This amuses me. As would the presence of an actual 8- or 16-bit-styled game.

Those platelets are just weapons-grade kawaii - and a work of pure genius.
Love the way everything we saw them do earlier in the episode all came together for the ending.

Look forward to seeing more characters in future episodes, as so far it's been a good show.

Adorable platelets throwing their blood colleagues into a 3 day waiting hell with a huge smile on their face - I love it! <3 XD
Our red bloocell still has a lot to learn to keep away from cute platelets and their sticky fibrin. I can already imagine how the lolis went back into the blood stream and were "collecting" other red blood cells with their fibrin nets while all they were all doing their best to run away (because they rather wanna work than waste 3 days of uncomfortable waiting) from it but couldn't escape because of the heartbeat pushing them into said nets. XD

The bacterias are pretty cool-looking, their design is so alien and Mega-Man like. Their plan wasn't that stupid, but they had forgotten about the power of lolis! And their magical protein-net. Bet next time the next bacterias will try to get away as quickly as possible. They wanna escape, hide from white blood cells, get O2 and nutrients and then make new versions of themselves till they are big enough to take over the body and make it die. For now the body is healthy enough to take care of everything. Even a tiny scratch looks like a giant Abyss hole in the body and this one just scratched the surface so to say and look what happened to the world of our little cells. A real wound must be truly disastrous then, like a red blood cell couldn't see where the wound starts and where it ends. Which makes sense given how tinsy winsy they are.

...and that's why the cute little platelets are so scary...with how they can easily amass large numbers of bodies while putting on sweet, innocent smiles.

We all know our adorable clumsy RBC won't die as we gonna see her next episode. Same for our cool and kind WBC. So yeah, while their death by loli hands SHOULD happen, the series won't show us this scenario.

God damn, that was marvelous!!! I don't care if it's construed as child labor, I'm now hoping the kindergarten platelets appear in every episode! It's so cute and funny to see them come out on top too!

So I'm not worried about minor infections. Neutrophils are badasses and will take care of it. But now I feel super guilty about all those paper cuts and stuff I got. What's with that child labor? What's with exposing those cute little platelets to battle?

the design of the germs looked like if they were ripped from a Tokusatsu show in the vein of Kamen Rider and Super Sentai.

I had some One Punch Man vibes too.

Anyway obviously our main characters will be back next episode. Lets just assume that their residue was recycled into new blood cells or something.

What with the round bumps on the yellow lady antigen, she kinda reminded me of a Dalek...

The seiyuu list for this show is stunning. Obviously a lot of really talented people wanted to come voice cells and germs.

I wonder if Noto Mamiko will appear on-screen as well as narrating.
