...

That would be a Japanese name, not anime... and you already have one. Just mispronounce your name like a Japanese person would say it.

If you really want to make a japanese name for yourself, I think it'd be nice to sort the kanji for it as well, and add an additional depth in it through the kanji's meaning.

In foreign language classes, some teachers have each student choose a name common to the language and culture. So when I took German in high school, I was "Wilhelm". My Russian name from college I've forgotten (along with all my Russian). In my more recent Japanese classes, we just rolled our names as a native Japanese speaker would in kana.

Now when I'm playing an elf in some MMOs (since often the architecture is asian-like) I'll choose a japanese name appropriate to the character... also in those anime-based freeplay MMOs like DOMO or Rose Online.

I hesitate to give any of the names I use in MMOs since they're fairly unusual (hardly ever get a name-creation-collision) and I'd like to keep it that way

Have had my name turned into kanji (I will get a damn ikan for it!) *waves fist*
But otherwise...no.
How do you make/choose an 'anime' name, when all they are, are japanese names?

Like asking us to make a 'disney' name. I'd use 'marvel' and 'dc comics' as another example, but anime is on a much much broader scale than that, it's like asking us to make a name for a random hollywood movie.

Can't really be done, huh...
