Honestly this is pathetic this is the weakness of 18 and 19. Now i dont mind Deus Ex machina to an extent but this is really sad and pathetic.
The thing that amuses me about all this is that i get a nasty feeling that Strada and them didnt actually rebel. I think its possible all this was a test to get the group ready to fight Riz because IF he was truly rebelling Strada would've killed them a long time ago.

When compared to vol 20 of course its weak but even if we didnt know about vol 20 this would still be weak. Its weak for the same reason that 18 was weak. Big villian does a whole lot of damage and makes everyone look stupid but then all of the sudden random ah-ha moment comes and all is resolved. If you look at the major player in this volume the reality is Dulio wins the first major battle with bubbles and Arthur and Strada fight for a long time until they both stop and o look Xen comes in and decides to split her big bad sword which was failing and then all of the sudden he loses and his old age kicks in. Its like if you ever played the old pokemon games and you watch an early gym leader decimate your strong pokemon (Cuz u have no revives) and then a weak one comes in and finishes the last one off and gains all the experience. Dulio basically admits he could've won the battle easily but he wanted to test the DxD group and Arthur stopped i'm betting because he realized Strada wanted to bring back durandal to its true power.

Yeah, I'm also thinking that this whole thing is not only to help appease the Church Warriors who've lost what they wanted to fight for and/or the ones who'd lost their parents or loved ones because of Devils, but that it was also so that Cristaldi and Strada could sort of train the current Holy Sword Users of the Alliance's side so that they could become stronger and better swordsmen. Plus, Strada also wanted to show Xenovia the true power and worth of Durandal and how it's mainly supposed to be based purely on power and nothing else (and also to make her understand that it's not good to weaken Durandal's power by using Excalibur as a sheath).
In other words, the rebellion wasn't meant to really be much of a rebellion in the first place. If what we're thinking is correct.

No Arthur didn't get bored. He saw that, as powerful as he still was, Strada is still an 80+ year old man, and no longer had the stamina to go the distance with Arthur. He was wearing down, and Arthur found no honor in winning by attrition.

Yeah, I think you're right. That's most likely it, now that you mention it. So his age finally caught up to him, huh? I'm just glad Xenovia beating him with only a knee-kick to his abdomen was a fake spoiler.

I see some pervy meaning the Anifreik. haha *wink*
Anyway, yeah, I have to agree. She has good legs, so she should still be able to bring some pain with a well-placed kick. But from the looks of things, isn't the battle against the Church Rebels already over? And Strada is also already beaten. Walburga just made her grand entrance here, too, so Ise and the others will have to deal with her now, with the Church (former?) Rebels hopefully helping out.

Are we sure it's done? Let's at least wait for the Forward before we say anything - maybe there's a bit more left, still. Some Volumes have had some short chapters even after New Life and/or Next Life. But yeah, if it's really over, then I can kind of agree with you. But I did like the Ise and co. vs. Walburga fight and the New Life, so it's all good IMO.
Edit: One post late. There we go. Thanks, Jopjopjop.
