Romance(or other good) anime i haven't seen.

Ok here is the problem I'm running out of ideas for worth-while anime and the animeplanet database is becoming much less helpful then it was in the past. If anyone has suggestions on good romance oriented(please note if sad) anime or other good anime in general i have missed they would be appreciated.

P.S. my anime list is at the link in my signature

Ef~A tale of memories and Ef~A tale of melodies, Both very focused on romance, a touching story and amazingly good,
Ef~ a tale of melodies is the first season i think.

Didn't thoroughly check your lists.
I recommend Bokura ga Ita, Paradise Kiss, NANA for shoujo.

if you look for great production one (nice artwork and music) try Futakoi Alternative, Tokyo Marble Chocolate

other way round, memories came first ^^. I think you can watch them either way round though and not be to effected.

Saikano is worth the watch . (Note: VERY sad)

I see you had 5 cm per second on your list, didnt check if you had other work by shinkai on there.

If you didnt, watch place promised in our early days.

then maybe add:

Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora

just finished watching the first season of Emma and will give Bokura ga Ita, Paradise Kiss and NANA a shot as well. I'll put off saikano till I'm in the mood for something less happy. I've been meaning to watch The Place Promised in our Early Days and will check out Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora as well. I've seen both ef~ and nodame series and enjoyed them very much. As for Ah My Goddess... well it was good at the time i watched it but isn't as deep a story as what I'm looking for atm. Thanks for the suggestions.

I second Grif's post.

I still highly recommend that you watch SaiKano, which is to me one of the few masterpieces I have seen. The Place Promised in Our Early Days is on my top favorites of all time because of the confusing complexities involved. And also, Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora is just a good anime.

I also recommend REC.

Voices of a Star is nothing short of amazing. It's a single ova, so even if you hated it, you'd only be out a single 20 odd minutes. I found the ending to be very happy, though some would see it as incredibly sad. It's a labor of love by the creator and how well thought it is shows. It grips me still more than most animes that are 1 or 2 seasons--the characters are better developed too.
