Now all that's left is for me to wait for it to reach Australia and pray Madman doesn't screw up the release or even better, someone else gets DRRR!! before Madman coughsirenvisualcough.
Wait, you want different VAs for Issac and Miria? I loved the American VAs more than the original Japanese ones actually (much less squeaky) and I almost never hear people hate on them (well, the characters yes, the voices, not so much).

I don't hate their voices, that's saved mostly for Greg Ayers voice acting. I just don't find them as... hyper? I suppose that's what makes some prefer their dub over the original and I certainly can understand how Miria's voice in particular will grate on others nerves. It's mainly Issac's dub that doesn't sit well with me. I just don't find him as energetic as the original. Miria's isn't too bad I guess. I'm basing my opinion solely from the first disc, so perhaps I'll lighten up my impression after watching the whole dub? Overall imo Baccano's dub is 50/50 success rate and one of the few dubs I don't quite mind watching due to the story setting.

Having said that, I will most certainly not be watching Durarara!!'s dub due of the setting, except for a bit of sampling for each character. I'm definitely curious how Simon would sound like in the dub lol.

Not really, considering that the last episode just aired this feels astonishingly fast for something to get a R1 release. I was hoping an announcement would come at one of the three big US July cons but if the first DVD set won't be out until January they could have easily waited longer.
Oh, and in the panel coverage (so not in the first posts article) the series will be released in three sections with 8 or 9 episodes each. Considering that the original episode run was 24 episodes (which would mean 3 sets of 8) I think it looks pretty likely that we'll get the extra episodes as well, always a good thing.

Alright I was hoping for a dub since I kept on hearing rumors of it being a sub only release. Can't wait for it on DVD to come out now I just need to save up more money =D

Actually, I was expecting the license to come much earlier as I'm used to seeing companies grab popular shows mid-season. Then I had forgotten with a show airing on Cruchyroll there is probably a special position for that series. I agree the January release sounds good right with ep. 25 following afterward.

I suspect you meant for one of those actors to be Shinra and one to be Shingen. Which one is which?

Oh crap, I didn't realize the repeat, thanks for catching that.

But either one is fine here.

I really want to preorder this right this second (they've even got a $10 discount on it right now) and I was checking the TRSI page and it looks like the first special keychain is Celty's helmet.

Holy shit, the NA release is getting exclusively drawn cover art by Brains Base AND postcards based on the Japanese covers? @A@ Aniplex USA is really putting effort into this. I'll pray very very hard that the Australian release would be just as awesome.

The NYAF pannel had a few dub clips of the first 1 or 2 episodes (including Shizuo and Izaya). I think I might decide to check out this series after all based on the preview dubs.

I like it, not quite as much as the Japanese art but if we're getting that art as postcards then I'm satisfied with the design.

When I went to the NYAF they had plenty of info about this and the people who were handing out cards telling people about the series said it was about "these school kids who get caught up in these gangs and it's a really cool story." I was like...what about the headless horseman on a motorcycle, lol.

It's not a trailer per-say but Aniplex did put up a video with clips from the first nine episodes (watch it here). Still not liking Kida's voice but the others were okay/grew on me during the video. My copy should ship out any day now so I can't wait!
