Team Fortress 2 (TF2)
Anyone besides me actually looking forward to TF2 finally coming out? I thought it would never see the light of day much like its friend Duke Nukem Forever but it was announced by Valve at some EA press thing Quote:
Shit I can't even remember how many years it has been. Being an avid QWTF (QuakeWorld Team Fortress) player back in the day, this has made my week. The engineer looks hella sick, giving me more reason to put this shiny -e- (Engineer's Alliance) back to work. They haven't shown any videos yet, and that will be the final judgement before I am either sold or never playing this game but for the time being I am sold XD well6 and bam4 were like the bestest maps ever. BRING THEM BACK FROM THE DEAD TFS

I was really excited about TF2 a couple years ago when it was first announced. Now I don't really give a rats ass because everything they promised they would do has pretty much already been done. I just hope there are advanced techniques and quirks still in the game. If I can still dispenser jump up onto a ceiling light and build a sentry gun on it im golden. Ohh, and using those disorient grenade things that medics have in the water and then getting launced out of the water onto the second level of 2fort and spreading disease among the snipers...classic.. Just about everything I loved about TFC seemed like it was unintentional.

A couple? It was first revaled in early 1999 or so, after HL became a success .
Then it was going to be a more realistic CTF game, sort of like what the FireArms mod became and later Battlefield 2, but I guess they abandoned that line of thought. This new exaggerated style hopefully promises some very fast team-based action. I'm looking forward to it. |

Can't see any reason why it would be anything special, since I seriously doubt they have got the guts to make any big changes to the age-old frag'n'spawn cliché. Already there are games like UT2k4, Enemy Territory, Counter-Strike, Battlefield 2, Call to Arms 2, and the upcoming Quake Wars for the graphic-hungry fraggers.
At least they could had removed snipers. |

All the variations of fortress mods out there always consist of the same 9 classes Scout, Sniper, Soldier, Demolitions Man, Medic, Heavy Weapons, Pyro, Spy, Engineer may it be QWTF or Weapons Factory (Q2TF) or TFC the mix has never changed.

Exactly my point: "it wouldn't be Team Fortress would it?" It takes guts to make real changes and the removal of sniper -class would be one. If they don't have the guts, it's the same fragging game that was published some 10 years ago for Pentium 1 and 2. We can expect a bit more than that... You know: Half Life 2 class stuff.
Just speculation, of course. Have to see the manual/demo once it comes out, even though I'm almost willing to bet 10 bucks that words "Team Fortress 2 is a fast-paced team-shooter!" will appear there... Last edited by Ending; 2006-07-16 at 13:02. |

I played a little bit of Q3F, it was okay but my clan wasn't too fond of it so we didn't play it together
There was some interesting maps made for it though. New Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsTB6N8RuxI

anyways THREAD REVIVAL ! I was tossed a link to this video off a German site, with the Leipzig Games Convention 2006 underway, I'm pretty sure it was shown there. tossed it on my site, I wasn't able to directly save as from the german link. http://ultracarl.com/videos/team_for...2_gameplay.wmv This video makes me want this game that much more now. But they didn't show the medic nor the pyro in action. Alas it doesn't matter, ENGINEERS UNITE. -e- Engineer's Alliance 2fort5/2fort4r/2fort whatever variation you played of it, This is the same map. VERY NICE make over i must add.
