i actually let it play until the end. lmao, my friends walked in and said wtf is that. lol

seriously, i thought this endless looping nightmare would end on ep6, apparently, it didn't. imho this was an incredibly huge risk to take and they failed. i don't know of anyone who likes this. in fact some of them are so angry they're dropping it completely. hows the ratings for this in japan? i wonder what they think.

after watching all the E8 compared I can say E8 5 (the most recent one) was going at the fastest rate, they could've seriously ended it on that one

Well generally there's two parts to an idea...the concept and the execution.

CONCEPT: Wow, lets have the same episode over, and over, and over, and over and over again... Thats out of this world, it will be outside the box, it'll be funky, itll be craaaazy...etc.

EXECUTION: General consensus.....people are not amused. Its one thing to sympathizes Yuki's ordeal in this short story...its a totally different thing to experience it as well.

I just had an interesting thought, I wonder if all the shots of cicadas, and maybe even the bug hunt itself, isn't a huge reference to Higurashi, another anime that uses time loops.

I've said it before: I know it's an experiment in storytelling. I just think it's a failure. This could have absolutely been done with the same effect in three episodes and with the same effect. As for "by-the-formula" entertainment---I'll take a Naruto episode that does what it intends to do over a Haruhi episode that fails to do what it intended any day.

The only thing memorable about the cicadas for me was the shot of Mikuru's in the first E8 episode... of course the only one she'd be able to catch would be the only retarded one in that entire forest
