I do think this arc needs to end soon. We need to see Jouichirou's true skill, but that doesn't have to be in this arc. Let Souma and Erina win here and make Azami eat his words. He needs to see once and for all that Erina has already stepped out of his shadow and is much better than he ever thought she'd be.

I also want to get a flashback about Souma's mother. Knowing who Erina's mother is/was (depending on whether she's still alive or not) would also be good.

Considered that Megumi got treated like a trash in this arc, I would have rather she went to jail with other PSD members instead of being part of Big 4.

At least Isshiki and Megishima got eliminated at least 1 Central member before they got destroyed.

I can understand Megumi losing to someone like Momo. But you have to look at Megumi's entire Shokugeki record here. When was the last time she won a big match?

If we speak in pro wrestling terms, she's close to being buried. Winning builds legitimacy. Winning ultimately validates the efforts to improve.

As one famous pro wrestler once said, "You don't get a trophy for participation; you get a trophy for being a winner".

True. Takumi used to be a jobber, but he could be one of the Elite 10 now. Granted, he only beat Eizen, but who cares. He can take the 10th seat.

As for Megumi, I don't think she is better than Ryo, Hayama, or Alice atm.

Megumi's problem and it's similar to the one Takumi has is that she's just an ordinary cook when compared to the others. Ryo has his berserker mode Hayama has his nose and Alice is a scientific genius. She's the Krillin of the group in that she's not bad but the others are just so far ahead of her that it's unfair to compare her. As for E10. If you assume that Erina keeps her spot and you get 4 people from their year. The answer is that same group. Soma Hayama Ryo and Alice. That's how it is.

I don't think the Berserk mode and the scientific genius thing necessarily tops Takumi. They are just gimmicks. They look flashy,but does not necessarily mean they are strong advantages over Takumi.They are more like the specialties of elite 10s,rather than ground breaking powers that you can't acquire through training.

I disagree big time and here's why.

Megumi is Krillin because she's good but not on the level of the others in the group and she's been a part of that major group for far longer. (add to that she lives in Soma's shadow in pretty much every way). She's also the moral support character in many ways.

Takumi is more Tien. A rival character whose strong but is overshadowed by the main group but has his moments when allowed too

EDIT: Something else that people forget/ignore is that Takumi's record in "major battles" is actually not much better then Megumi's. Sure he's beat Eizan (who we all shuld acknowledge is probably the worst of the E10 and only has his spot because of his ability to make money) but outside of that i can't remember him winning a major battle either. Megumi's losses were to Momo and Ryo neither of which is a "bad loss' takumi got schooled by Mimisaka. Though how bad of a loss that is would be a dangerous game

Neither did a lot of other characters. In the only major battle Alice fought in,she lost. Plus,we never know exactly whether other people in the first year level can't be beaten by Mimisaka either. Dude was good enough to fight Saito and put up an impressive match.

Admittedly Alice is a weird one. I can't help but think that she has a role other then being a beauty so that remains to be seen.

Fair on the second point too. Admittedly the only person of the main group who could've beaten Mimisaka at the time (without knowing about his trace) was Hayama but hey it is what it is.

Dragging chapter is dragging. Azami spoiled brats himself into not wanting to taste Erina's dish, until Erina proposes serving her dish to Rindou and Eishi, and if they both say it's delicious, than he must taste it too. As many users thought here before the whole power level ranking placement shit storm happened, Erina did in fact pull a Soma not once, but twice, cooking an Oyako Don with Squid Tentacles and Peanut Butter. Chapter ends with Azami begrudgingly reaching to taste the dish, but Erina stops him, hold it Sonic the Edgefag, the dish will get even better if you add that little bit of extra goodness from that small bowl, end.

Whoa, there really is peanut butter and squid in Erina's dish after all.

Though it's a double issue the break is officially only 9 days, so spoilers for next chapter will come next week. But after that we have to wait 2 weeks, so hopefully the winner is announced next week.
