While we're at it, the official site for the game went up (there's basically nothing up though):

Great, great episode. That joint operation and that teamwork used to defeat the strongest enemy so far without the Vividfusion. The girls managed to prevail by themselves (with the support of the military and Akane too, of course).
And about Rei, I wonder if the crow will finish her off when all her arrows are gone. |

Episode 8 was pretty good. It was good to see the girls have to defeat an Alone without having the Docking ability to fall back on. It forced them to follow some pretty precise tactics, and really work hard while engaging in a lot of teamwork to get the job done.
However, there were times when I felt they went a bit too over-the-top in this episode. But oh well, probably better that than underwhelming. It's going to be interesting to see where they go from here. This was probably the darkest and most dramatic-y episode yet. For the climax to top this they're going to need one helluva plot twist and/or a big bad Alone that's much nastier than anything we've seen so far. I'm looking forward to seeing what the writers come up with.

Episode 8:
The Alone shouldn't have wasted time "regenerating". The previous episode had it look like the Alone (before the Rei-rays) was going to make it to the Manifestation Engine without any outside assistance. Then it got the power-up, fired one shot that took Akane out, and then decided it needed to refuel at the Tokyo Sky Tree. With the Vivid girls out of the game it there was nothing stopping it making it to the engine, considering how powerless the military has been so far. Otherwise, solid episode. Last time we saw put the words "Aoi" and "Serious" together we got tomatoes, so it's nice seeing that seriousness of hers channeled towards laying the smack-down on a pterodactyl. Also, was Rei breaking down there at the end, or was she in pain or something?

Already thought of that.
But not using any of the Nanoha cast, i would rather use my (OC) expansion set rather than them- because well you know. SLB spamming, bed sharing and various shenanigans that would make facepalm all over again. I'm more focused on an OC-type thing in my Nanoverse things.

Not necessarily. Nanohaverse is set in a universe which conceivably can stand on its own. I think the OP wants to use the setting of the multi universal state called the TSAB that the Nanohaverse is set around. Which has potential, I think. You don't have to resort to using the characters, IMO , the setting can stand even without the characters, in a fanfiction. Quite a few Nanoha fics have proved this is possible, albeit, not for the whole story. Infact, Kenjiro Akane could well take the role of a good not insane , not criminal, not wanted, Précia or Jail. A renowned scientist who retreated into isolation but not villainy after almost losing his whole family in a Dimension Reactor disaster.
The Vivid system could be an experiment at human to human Unison, ethnically iffy, but not outlawed.... Yet. The four girls could easily be over AA rank mages, with Himiwari the most powerful in terms of raw power, but defensively oriented. Akane Isshiki is an all rounder. Aoi Futaba, daughter of an old wealthy family who is very good at breaking shields - the anti defensive Mage, in other words. Wakaba is the speed specialist. Mizuha is their mentor, aerial Mage ace but weaker than the four girls in terms of raw power. And Rei is the villain being used by unknown parties to sabotage the power supplies of administrated worlds, a summoner, and artificial Mage. And of course, this being Mid Childa, the names have to change, of course. And this can all be done without having to invoke the main cast, at all. I'm sure the author has something different mind though, but his or her concept is viable, provided he or she does the needed world building. Last edited by novalysis; 2013-03-01 at 10:06. |

The fighting this week was really good. I enjoyed the teamwork. Aoi and the others proved they aren't simply there to be used by Akane for docking. They can legitimately kick ass too.
Rei still has no idea who the Vivids are. I can't wait to see Rei's reaction when she finds out the enemies that are giving her so much trouble are Akane and co. Drama incoming. That's a nice way to put it Glad it was finally confirmed that only Akane is able to dock. I'm predicting Vivid Red is going to be the result of a giant orgy overcoming the limits of the system, perhaps even including Rei (the more the merrier).

The multi-dimensional clause is a very huge loophole to work in. You can have a nanoverse situation without the canon cast ever showing up. And since the canon cast is pressed into situations right now (eclipse etc.), we need to put others in. I'll wait until the series finishes just so we have some sort of full idea going.

Sigh. If you're going to go fanficcy, I would appreciate you taking it elsewhere and linking it rather than doing it here. I realize I may be a minority in this, but I've found that fanfiction is entirely capable of harming my ability to appreciate the original work. Some stories have been ruined for me because of fanfiction that was written about them. That is a major reason why I do not read fanfics any more, and why I will go to great lengths to avoid being exposed to them.

Personally, I'd encourage waiting until VRO is completed before writing any lengthy or complicated fanfic about it. We don't know what plot twists or reveals could happen that could render plot points in a presumptive fanfic kind of off.

Darn Rei is just getting the bad end of everything so far. That completely sucks. Can't wait until she becomes their friend.
Grandpa... he's crazy and awesome. What? Unlimited energy is a byproduct of making the Vivid suits? Only docking with Akane is possible? And yes, throwing his body in a fridge while holding a watermelon is just plain odd Out of curiosity, what do you people think of Blue? On Twitter, I keep getting this feeling like people dislike Blue or something. I thought it was more of a recurring joke that she always "messes" up somehow (tomatoes and then Newtype power push) and thought it was rather funny. Exactly. You're worried about that but have you thought about how all these girls are flying around so easily with pretty much just rockets on their feet? It's crazy but... fun if you don't think too much on the details. Just think that it's a special bomb that is so advanced and modified by the genius grandpa to have only an effect to a certain radius.

Episode 8 had a bit too much "Akane is injured, we're sad" for my taste. Felt like I was watching a jdrama.
Nice to see the 3 girls able to handle things on their own without Akane. (other than wings >_>" The 3 girls not being able to dock with eachother is such a copout. But I guess they have limited episodes and time so better to just write it off from now. At least till a movie special is released or something lol. Aoi finally gets to do something, she's been rather useless since episode 1, so I guess she needed a few accomplishments. Rei should just shoot all her arrows at once next time.

I like Blue. But I think she's been shifted to the background a bit by the other characters.
Red is the main character, and fills her role very well. Green has the whole super-serious "warrior of justice" tomboy thing going on. Yellow is this amazing blend of nerd girl with lovely, bountiful 'rich girl' appearance. Blue was the relatively shy and soft-spoken refined yuri girl with a big crush on the female lead... but Rei has kind of supplanted her to a degree. It's hard for Blue to stand out given what the main cast is like now. Still, I think she's a likeable character. Quote:
If I can roll with that as a comic book fan, I can roll with VRO.
