Metal Gear Survive [PS4/XBONE/PC]
Even with Hideo Kojima gone Konami's decided to keep the Metal Gear franchise alive with a new installment:
Apparently it's a 4-player co-op survival game with stealth gameplay set in an alternate universe that branches off from the ending of Ground Zeroes. A soldier from MSF gets sucked through a wormhole that takes him to a world with a zombie-like infestation and Metal Gears. --------- Now I expect there to be a LOT of hate for this game for obvious reasons, but I really want to give it a fair chance. Just because Kojima isn't directing the games anymore does not mean it will be bad. In fact Kojima-less Metal Gear spin-offs with good reception already exist. However I'm not sure I'm sold on the concept just yet. Granted the gameplay of The Phantom Pain was really good and if this one's gameplay is built around that then great, otherwise though I'm iffy on the story and setting but it seems that with the alternate universe thing they really don't want to tamper with the original plotline which is probably a wise decision. Ultimately at the moment I'm not convinced to purchase it, but it's got a chance to win me over. Last edited by SilverSyko; 2016-08-17 at 11:30. |

It just looks so uninspired, even the name is super dull. I find it utterly hilarious that they have tried to shoehorn it into the existing canon, yet somehow managed to make it feel so disjointed. Kojima's stories were out there for sure, but the "plot" of MG:S just looks like its gone a bit too far to the point thats its become a bit silly. I think these spin-off are all the Metal gear we're going to get from now on.
To me it looks like Konami are just making their own Umbrella Corps...

Zombie??
why have to be zombie?? that's too boring!! If Konami want to try something new distinct than the predecessor then they could gone another theme like more urban metal gear or metal gear alien or metal gear in motorcycle |

I find this game hilarious since the premise sounds similar to a fanfic called Peace Day Never Came where Mother Base gets teleported to another world due to their Teleporter but with the twist being Big Boss and Diamond Dogs end in the Fallout universe during the events of New Vegas and Fallout 4.

Frankly, I hate zombies. I don't like Zombie movies or games, which is why I've never been a Resident Evil fan, and Call of Duty Zombies is something I won't touch. This is essentially Left 4 Dead with Metal Gears in it. It might be great fun for somebody, but that somebody is obviously not me.
I said it before on other forums and I'll say it again: Konami has absolutely no idea how to handle their IPs, ESPECIALLY the successful ones.

In a couple of years time we'll all be debating when exactly did Metal Gear jump the shark. I think there's a fair case to be made for this being the moment that happened (and for a series like Metal Gear that's pretty tall order).

The horrifying realization just hit me: As crazy as Kojima has been with his games, he's always had some sort of logical reason for them.
This? "Hey, you know what would make Metal Gear more popular and loved by fans? LET'S THROW IN ZOMBIES!"

Zombies are not always a bad thing, buuuut...Metal Gear is primarily a game of deep plot (and MANY hours of videos and codec dialogue), with exploration and espionage taken into account while setting up fights. Zombies have no place in a world where Metal Gears exist, simply because they are WMDs - what easier way to take down a zombie apocalypse?
