The anime will have guest appearances by other historical figures (such as Fukuzawa Yukichi and Yosano Akiko) all voiced by various VAs such as Horie Yui and Maeno Tomoaki.

They're really playing up the history for the anime, because I don't think they appeared in the source game.

I'm the one that is watching this, isn't a simple Otome adaptation with a cute MC and beautiful men not enough for you?

I'm watching Renka also; but mostly for the history and its references, like old Tokyo monuments that no longer exist in modern days (like the Rokumeikan). If you are interested in history I can post some explanations here.

I remember the discussion panel for Kamigami no Asobi was quite popular too, and it was an otome.

Hah! bishie Lafcadio Hearn! I laughed my socks off, though the mentions of Hoichi the Earless and Yuki-onna made me want to watch the "Kwaidan" movie again.
