Episode 2 is here and Alec easily became my favorite character in the show so far.
Her personality is strangely fun to watch and she's got some very entertaining chemistry with the main cast. The latest episode introduced the school setting that seems pretty normal compared to most schools you'd see in anime. I also still find the comedy in this show to be well done. Every character in this anime stands out in some way so far with their personality.

Err... not enjoying the second episode. I thought it was a more down to earth show, but it's a whole bunch of fooling around with cameras. And the Pin-senpai who's lusting after a gravure model who's actually his childhood friend who secretly has a crush on him pairing is a bit too far fetched to me. (PS: He's good at detecting cup size but he can't put two and two (four and four??) together?).
Hope this gets better. |

Now the BIGGER question is, does Alec and Teresa know Tada when they were kids? When Teresa was saying "Tada Mitsuyoshi" we have this weird close up of her green eyes, as if she recognized the name and only then did she connected the name with his face. Also, Alec unmistakably recognized Tada's parents, and I don't think it's a coincidence that their lodgings were right next to the cafe. OP also made a big deal out of Tada's parents passing away, so their deaths may actually be related due (or at least in part) with the Larsenburg royal family. Speculation here, but the Larsenburg Royal Family visited Japan earlier, in the same hotel Teresa is staying right now. There Teresa and Tada met, but it was shortlived because of some terror attack on the family, of which Tada's parents were casualties. Part of the reason why Teresa's otaku habits is because of this visit, and maybe Tada or his parents were fans of Rainbow Shogun at this point. Which of course made Teresa learn Japanese and her wanting to come back to Japan one day to meet Tada again. Or something like that... Yeah, it seems like I'm talking a lot about the main couple, but that's mainly because Pin and Hina turns my head into mush. ID555 hit it right on target (Pin loves Hina who really is his childhood friend's other persona, but doesn't recognize her despite accurately gauging girls' cup sizes) but I'm pretty sure Pin is just acting dumb. He knows full well that Iinchou is Hina, but hasn't acted on it because of childhood friend reasons (I don't want to lose our friendship yada yada). They may even twist it more that the only reason why he started obsessing over Hina is because he knows it's Iinchou, and he can mask his feelings as idol obsession while having an outlet for his feelings at the same time. That, or I might simply be just overthinking things, as I usually do when shipping comes into question. XD

Well one of my favourite anime of all time is Toradora so I guess something like that? But I'm sure there's a lot of ways you can do a romcom and I doubt Toradora's "scumbag-comedy" would suit a show like this. The point is, I certainly don't think the genre necessitates cheesiness and "pedestrian-ism".
It's mostly a subjective thing anyway. I'm sure I wouldn't be complaining if the comedy worked for me but it just didn't. I just felt it was all too "safe" or "inoffensive" or "lacked bite". Not sure how to describe it but that's the best I can do. And I know for a fact that Toradora's style doesn't appeal to everyone either. I guess that's just how the cookie crumbles.

Not a cat person but I like that cat. He's surprisingly adorable and funny.
The photography chase was interesting and looks like something fun to do in real life, too. But I do agree the show is a bit on the dull side. I feel it's missing something to make it more interesting but it is only 2 episodes so far. I'll continue until I get bored with it.

In a world full of isekais and haremcrap, this is just what I want to see. Calm and funny SoL, with very clear pairings and interesting characters. I don't mind if there isn't a background complex plot, but if there is, I will welcome it with open arms

I loled pretty hard at the cat having such a deep voice but unfortunately the comedy quickly wore thin from there on out. I really don't know what to do here. I want to like this show and there are some pretty strong hints that there'll be more substance to this show further down the line but my cynical mind just can't stand all this cutesy goofiness that we're getting now...
