When it comes down to the essence, Macross 7 is really fun

Hopefully Macross Delta will have something for everyone. I just want some good valkyrie´s designs, insane space combat and a fun story without intolerable characters and with a competent lead. (And please, keep the musicians playing in the stage and the pilots in the planes, and everything will be good in the world).

On that note, I hope the re-bluray release of DYRL is english subbed and unedited. I know I purchased DYRL bluray raw which is no problem, the editing of the most violent scenes were ironic to say the least.

Wasn't expecting to see new Valkyrie designs yet, what with the minimal amount of information that's been released about the new series. I'm not entirely sure whether I like the new valkyrie designs (I'd like to see some other images to get a clearer idea of what they look like overall) but one thing I do like is that they don't seem to have heavy turret weaponry like some of the Valkyries in the Frontier movies. That stuff was kind of cool but it messes with the dynamics of the dogfights.

Another positive sign is that neither valkyrie appears to have SMS markings. I liked SMS in Frontier but I didn't want them to become the default cool hero organization.

Anyone notice how the red valkyrie doesn't appear to have a conventional cockpit canopy? There had been some suggestion that the new Macross series might be human vs cyborgs, maybe there's some truth to that...

I don't see the typical transformation lines on those machines... Surprise me Kawamori sensei, surprise me.

I'm loving the red-colored, Saab Draken-inspired valkyrie. So great to see such a classic jet fighter design becoming a variable fighter in Macross. Want to see more

If we're getting machines as the enemy, I'd like the Macross crew to go against beings similar to the Transformers. Imagine not-Starscream vs Valkyries. That would be interesting

We had a lot of space battles in Frontier, maybe this will be more atmospheric? The planes are really screaming sky worthy.
