Yes, the xy-forks are a huge improvement over the original vsfilter stuff but even they can be too slow:
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=4860912 Without limits on the format fansub groups can easily "make up" for new subtitle renderer optimizations. I don't know what the mobile solutions use, though I guess they are not based on vsfilter at all because it's tied to Windows too much. They might be libass based which is at least faster than old vsfilter though today partly beaten by the xy-forks. |
