Nyanbo!

NHK announced the main cast for its Nyanbo! television anime based on the cat version of the "Danbo" cardboard robot character within Kiyohiko Azuma's Yotsuba&! manga on Monday...
...NHK also announced that the series will premiere on September 27. The anime will air on NHK-E TV on Tuesdays at 6:40 a.m. and at 5:20 p.m. as part of a "mini anime" corner program. Each episode will be five minutes long.

Well that's odd. Good cast, and hopefully it's a baby step on the road to a proper Yotusba&! anime. (yeah, right, in our dreams, don't hold your breath, etc etc etc...)

The second novel was one of the top bestsellers of 2015 (it's on the 4th place, actually), so I think second season is quite possible.

Its also being advertised on PA works twitter account too, so I wouldn't rule it off entirely. Perhaps a movie? PA works havent sone actual second seasons but they have made movies before (Hanasaku iroha & professor layton).

Crunchyroll will carry the Nyanbo! stream "as it airs in Japan. The first episode will stream worldwide outside of Asia on Monday, September 26 at 6:15 p.m." [Source].

I hope it's the precursor to a full two-cour season... I always wanted to read the manga, but it's way too long for me to jump into. This way I'd get a condensed version of at least a part of it.
