WE ARE.... PENN STATE....
|
By some measures it's the largest naval battle in history. Most tonnage engaged and sunk over such a large geographical area. From USS Darter and USS Dace sinking Atago and Maya and badly damaging Takao on the 23rd all the way to Nowaki, Hayashimo, Wakaba, Noshiro, Abukuma, and Kinu being chased down by subs and aircraft on the 27th as they retreated, it was a massive engagement.

Tried 10 times at 5-5 with Support expedition AND Damegamis, to get that Saratoga Night plane. It's f*ckin impossible with the ship limitations they give us.

We don't have any date ye, but at least they have confirmed than the next event is going to be of a middle size one. Was there much night battle at the battle of Leyte gulf? the last update made me a little worried about the possibility of night battle nodes or the need for a large needing a large number of destroyer.

This is where the new DD night radar cut-in that was introduced with Michishio Kai Ni may be handy. |

That might be enough time for leveling another Nishimura destroyer. Still, I haven't fully recovered the metal and bauxite from the crafting spree (still missing 4 紫電改二) but I should have enough for a medium event.

Looking her up she was the duck that escorted Yamato on her final voyage. - doubt we are going to see that one in particular. Still not counting out an AA hime here, unless she is a drop. Next is that you are in now way - forced - to use the Nishimura fleet. You can always take another fleet there as long as the branching rules allow it. - At one's own peril Surface Radar being good for cut-ins now is a nice move btw - considering how lots of people wasted all theirs on Sara's new equip. So yeah there will imho be at least one map where Night Carriers will become useful in one way or another. At least I can't remember the last CV-free event.

While the second part of this event (Winter) would be the perfect chance to give us a certain carrier, I kinda doubt we will get it.
What I can see though is getting the new Akizuki now and the British DD in the second part.

Why would they tease us a British DD only to give her in Winter? At least, for Iowa, they had the honesty to tell us when she gonna debut. I know a lot of us have been mentally conditioned into thinking that Tanaka is able to every possible dick moves, but faking ship announcement is not one of those.
Back to the topic Four maps, likely six or seven knowing how Tanaka love to artificially bloat them with multiple phases and the last battle will be

Look, you dont play the game, so you will likely never understand the assholery night battle nodes can be in this game. I have bad memories of Operation AL yasen nodes, 5-3 (a map I hope I will not touch ever again) or those in 2-5. Those who started before me are likely forever scarred by the IBS event, which had REGENERATING MAP BAR.

We will have to wait and see what that last map will be like but even with the new set-up for destroyer (skilled look-out+ surface radar) than is supposed to increase evasion at night would make it harder to sink enemy ship.
If at least we could use land-based air support on night battle node, that could increase our chance.

You can of course question the accuracy of the english wiki in that regard, but when you read it like that it actually makes sense as the fall event is apparently just the first part of Leyte, with the other part being presented during the winter event.
