Yeah, the ending was pretty sad and great at the same time.

Spoiler:

John and Abigail had worked so hard to change their lives so that their son wouldn't lead a similar path when he grows up.

John dies, gaining redemption at last, but it seems Abigail dies of loneliness in return—and their son, still ends up as a gunslinger.

John was right. Life is never fair.

I loved the whole of the last mission, especially the end, totally didn't expect John to die right there, it's so rare that the main character dies just like that so it actually surprised me, good stuff! And then Jack ends up replacing his dad. Now that's an epic ending, a little sad that it goes against everything John wanted but oh well, I wanna become that Legend of the west!

There's one more mission in Blackwater. It's a stranger mission. After that you'll see the credits roll.

Hahaha. Well let's put it this way.

I really enjoy the art of narrative, and Red Dead Redemption does do something different in terms of execution. It is a very simple story, but the way it is told is very organic. In a sense that you're actually living the character. You get the feeling that you are in control of yourself but not in control of the grand scheme of things. This feeling also helped me feel frustrated at the "bad guys" of the story and empathize with the "good guys".

I hope that made sense. If you're looking for a story that would fuck your mind like Memento or something, this is not it. If you're looking for an epic trilogy kind of ending like Lord of the Rings this isn't it either. This is more emotional and very very very simple. Very very elementary, boils it down to the basic feelings. Kind of like Shadow of the Colossus (super simple story, super simple ending, but gets to you right?)

You know, I was expecting something like this, Why did ross just 'let' marston go back to his wife and son and not kill him after he got rid of dutch? And the missions which were there to showcase his bonding with his family were always overshadowed by the fact that you knew something was going to go terribly wrong.

The only real cool thing about the ending was the red dead redemption logo popping up before the credits.

Overall though it's definitely my goty so far.

If you want an answer, compare screenshots and come to a conclusion.

Xbox 360 version runs in 720p while the ps3 version is 570p aka sub-hd. This is fact.

You can't really tell the difference, tho. I know, I tried both versions on two tv's which were side by side (same models, even).

There is a difference.

The PS3 version has extra exclusive content or two (a gang hideout and an outfit), while the Xbox 360 version has the higher resolution.

You can make your decision based on those, but both differences are pretty much neglible in the end.

Considering that overall the PS3 is a much more powerful machine, I can't fathom why this is the case.

Just been playing the Zombie Nightmare DLC. Oh yes. Not a great fan of "take X, just add zombies" but this works. Make sure you finish the main game first, then play this.

John Marston rides again, to find the cause of the zombie plague, and a cure for his infected family...

^I beat mine a couple days ago, waiting for a friend to come back to try out the multiplayer.

It was some what repetitive but due to it's short length it didn't bother me. It was a great revisit with zombies. I would've preferred them to let us hang out with the old characters a bit longer, a different ending and a much more apocalyptic showdown. Zombies definitely need to be more threatening too.

Love the extra mystical creatures though.

I got it for the 360. I guess it doesn't really matter unless you are into achievements or trophies.

I got it for the PS3 but since I can't compare to the 360 I'll just go ahead and say get it for the platform that you have more friends on with the game.

It's awhole lot more enjoyable with a posse.

But almost everyone on my FL is playing BLOPS so I only play a little bit here and there before I'm dragged onto BLOPS.
