Question Hajime No Ippo

There is any good news about Hajime No Ippo?

I know it is licensed now, so there is any plan to continue the series or to produce new movie?

Nope. I did notice Last Exile vol 2 (US) already has the "Fighting Spirit" (aka Hajime no Ippo ) trailer on it.

Yeah, if anything they'll have to wait to see how the R1 DVD sales go before they even think about doing anything at all.

If I were you I wouldn't keep your hopes up. Once a series has ended in Japan, more often than not, that's it. If Ippo had gotten more popular after the Mashiba vs. Kimura OVA, there would have been more probably, but seeing as there hasn't, I'm banking on there wasn't enough to keep it going.

Talking Can someone Please translate this hajime no ippo phrase?:

Can someone translate this(and decifer it) for me? Its something that takamura said in Hajime no ippo(volume 44) Sorry my computer doesn't recognize Japanese text so i'll sound it out in English. Things in:
() represent kanji
**represent katakana

Takamura: (Hon) (to u) kne
nanto(i) tsu Te i i ka

Audience: (mu ne) u (ha) tsu Te Ko Le yo *champion*
Audience:So u da yo (e i)(yu u) ga (She ta) (mu) i chiya *sa ma* kne na ra ne e yo

Takamura: e (ei) (yu o)?

Audience: (Nani) ka (i) tsu te ku le e tsu
*o she* (ta chi) (ka n) (do u) she te n da yo.
(Chi yo u) *ka tsu ko* yo ka tsu ta yo.

Takamura(bit surprised): Chiyo u
*ka tsu ko i i*

Audience(looks pissed): (Nihon) no (hako) ri da a.......tsu!!!

Takamura(Real pissed! Veins popping the works): so u ka a tsu
me n na *o le*( sa ma) me ta ku
na ri te e n da na !?
(sa)(mo) chi ha wa ka tsu ta!!
yo-she (ni)hon) (ghe u o) yu.
o ri (sa ma) de (u) me
tsu ko she te ya lo

Takamura(shouting *gets on ropes on corner of ring*): (o n na) (do mo) o ri (sa ma) no (mo to) he (ko) i
20 (na n) (go) (Ni)(hon)(zhe yu u) *O ri (sa ma) da ra ke da ze!
*O ri*(Sa ma) no (se I) (she) yu ko le te ya ru.

That's all Ippo and company quickly vacate hopping that they aren't noticed as being associated with takamura whilevarious objects are quickly thrown at Takamura inside the ring.

Hmm this is really difficult to do especially the way you have written it in some places...

Try using the Hepburn method of translatiing Kana to Romaji:

http://www.sungwh.freeserve.co.uk/sapienti/jkana-o2.htm

also if you see a small tsu symbol before a constanant starting kana this tsu doubles the length of the constanant. eg

i (small tsu) te becomes itte (said with a small pause on the "t")

From this I'll guess the first sentence is actually:

Hontou ni nanto itte ii ka
(really/truely) (What/whatever) (say) (good) (?)

"Is what you're saying truely good?"

Hmm I need more practice myself

right the small tsu is a tongue stopper i think i had them in italics.. but i find it a bit hard to tell with the text in the manga. Heh I kindof know a bit more then i implied on the manga but i'm never *sure* so i'd hate to imply something when i'm not entirely sure. ANyways snoopycool translated it for me A big thanks out to snoopycool. Here is the translation:

I really...
Don't know what to say...
Put yer chest out, Champion!
Right! You're a hero, act like one
H-, hero?
Say something
We're touched, man
That was super cool
Super
cool?
You're the pride of Japan~!!
I see! So all of you wanna be like me, huh!?
I understand!!
Then I'll pay back the people of Japan
Women! Come to me!!
I'll give you my successor!!
In 20 years you'll have another me!

105 episodes? What? I wish.

Hajime No Ippo has 76 episodes, a oav and a movie. It's been licensed and will come out on dvd later on. I suggest picking up the dvds when they're released because this is such an amazing show.

If you saw up to episode 75 and saw episode 76 was a bit of a oav on it's own Takamura's story, saw the movie and saw the mashiba vs kimura ova, then you've seen everything.

It was probably POT(although I'm not too sure, I don't watch POT). Hajime No Ippo didn't go up that high... I'm 100% sure of that.

Spoiler:

76 is just a bit sidestory on Takamura. It's safe to say 75 was the last episode. The manga is in 60+ volumes and it's still going though.

Which do I watch first? Champion Road or Kimura vs. Mashiba?

I just finished watching the series and I can't wait to pick it up on DVD. Such an awesome series.

The manga is also licensed I think. It was being scanslated, but the group was asked to stop by the people in Japan I believe (not sure). I wish I could find some place to buy it, I just want to know what happens.
