Snoopycool still scanlates the manga. The publisher only told them to stop hosting ippo scans on http. You can still find it on irc.

The manga isn't licenced, as ubb said, the original publisher just asked them to stop hosting it on their website...

has anyone seen the trailer for "Hajime no Ippo" Now known as Fighting Spirit??

Hajime no ippo is one of my favourite animes ever and I almost cried when I heard the voice actors. Takamura's voice was particularly disturbing. The first volume has been released and I will continue to support this anime in hopes that sales will spur the production of more episodes.

here is the link to the trailer: http://www.fightingspiritdvd.com/ipo1_content.html

Here is the fighting spirit's web page : http://www.fightingspiritdvd.com

As far as anyone knows, the Kimura vs Mashiba OVA is the last animated work for HnI there ever will be for now. If you want more, I suggest you go look for the manga.

Also in future, it would be more proper to make a more specific subject title. For instance with yours it could have been "Will there be more episodes of Hajime no Ippo?" instead of cutting it short like you did. Just FYI.

Hajime no Ippo

Did I hear correctly that there was plans on continuing where the Champion Road ended sometime in the near future? Or was that complete bullshit that I heard? THanks

There was the Kimura VS Mashiba OVA released after the Championship Road TV Movie and that was it.

Technically though, it takes place before the Champion Road, so it doesn't pick up where it left off.

I haven't even gotten to the trailer part. I'm reading the episode summaries and episode 1 identifies Ippo's bully as Uemura. Umm...hello?
PLUS, the character summaries totally spoil the whole mystery of the Kumi-Mashiba relationship. How could they tell us her surname and who she's related to so early on?

Ah, I finally watched the trailer. It...wasn't as bad as I expected... GAAAAAAAAAAAAHTakamuraGAAAAAAAAAH!!! No, honestly... really... I'm fine. I'll...I'll just go drown myself in the nearest river now, shall I?

Why do you guys get so upset over a dub? I mean yes it's crappy, but it's not like you have to watch it dubbed. Just watch the subtitle track.

People just hate seeing things they love being treated poorly, I guess.

Precisely. Plus there's the added factor of Takamura's voice just being HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. I certainly don't expect dubs to be perfect, and I thought they did an acceptable (not good) job with the other voices. Takamura just sounds so wrong somehow. Worse than wrong, it's SICK. Of course I'm going to buy it anyway, but that doesn't mean I can't express my disappointment in their choices.
