I'm guessing it'll be down for about three days?

I was just going through the campf*ckuvote posts and stumbled on Koizumi Itsuki's, and it just made me laugh so much I just had to share it with you. Basically, LJ-ers submit a 'voice' of their character and the rest either vote you in or out, depending on how well you do, anyway... from Livejournal:

Spoiler:

To me, this is the second best thing since the TV series. Carry on...

Thanks for the post.
Here is the same picture on the AFP site in Japanese.

It doesn't seem a fake.
The protest took place after three palestinian kids were killed by gunmen in Gaza.
The placard reads "Please do not kill children"

Heh - viral marketing campaigns are great. I like how they have "禁則事項は12月22日に公表します。" as an EUC-encoded HTML comment as a little prize for people who View Source.

Out of curiosity, do you know which newspaper this was scanned from?

Maybe it's my browser but I don't see that pic on either of the above sites, and the imageshack one is down too due to overuse - does anyone have a full size version, I can't make it out from the thumbnail. A google image search of haruhi+gaza turns up nothing.

I hope they aren't using the REAL SOS-dan logo, or you'll be downloading forever

Well, apparently sosbrigade.com was already registered. Notice how similar it looks to the "a" version. Coincidence?

You can access Yuki's intro page:
http://www.haruhi.tv/member_yuki.html

Notice her profile says "文芸部" (Literature club), her original position (People who have read vol.4 will know what it means).

Call up the page source and change encoding to EUC-JP, and you'll get

<!-- プログラム起動条件・鍵をそろえよ。 --> (Program activation requirement - collect the keys)

The website was taken down (disappeared), and looks like it's getting "reconstructed" bit by bit. Talk about faithfulness. I wonder what it'll look like by the 21st.

They could have just called it .net or .org. The "a" just makes it look awkward.

Edit: Holy crap, they were taken too.

I actually think (hope) that it's a license announcement, seeing as how the page is in English and the title has "North America" in it. Either that, or a big giant hoax to get gullible fools like us.

Well, as rumours go, the happenings with JP website could be prelude to some sort of announcement (or it could be nothing, just staying true to the novels for the sake of it -- they've done it before...), but the asosbrigade.com is most certainly a license announcement of some sorts. Marking up animeondvd.com makes it most likely to be anime licensing (as opposed to light novels, manga, etc.).

So the chief has decided to step into the Gaza strip turmoil... this and what seems to be a prelude to her hitting the shores of North America.

There's something up with Haruhi... hehe... seriously...

The photo seemed genuine, what with it been published in a French newspaper(Agence France Presse).
According to this ink:
http://www.otakudigest.com/blog/inde...tting-militant
The photographer's name is Mahmud Hams

The thing is, I have heard Haruhi is popular in Israel too. Perhaps this can be a common-ground for future peace talks?^_^
