I went for Ellene too, actually. And Ridia. I even have the figures Tho sadly part 2 was a steaming pile of crap IMO. Horrible strategy RPG but I may be biased as I really like them.

Yeah, Yogurting's got some nice designs. What's wrong with the name, it's cute! (^^)

My personal favorites off the top of my head (random order):

Nanoha (good design for a very modest uniform)
Azumanga Daioh (simple but effective!)
Shakugan no Shana (nice no-nonsense look)
Stellvia (good SF-themed school uniforms not to mention the flight suits)
Air (complements the character design very nicely)
CCS (CLAMP, what can I say?)
Angelic Layer (ditto)
Pita-Ten (possibly the cutest, fluffiest designs, thanks to good old Koge-Donbo)
Akihabara Dennogumi (cool design from Kotobuki Tsukasa, though I don't care for the show itself)

Anyhow, I second your list. All very good ones. I didn't mention Nanoha because I figured I was biased but I find that for the immensely rare instance of a modest school uniform, it really wins.

While mini-skirts are ok IMO, I myself like longer skirts, preferable past the knee. Wind's was good, but I really like Fate/Stay Night's the best.

Tohsaka in that uniform = 8-D~


Failing that, I like the absolute territory thingie. Personally, I don't like seeing a lot of leg, and thighhighs or whatever you call it are a good way to 'bypass' that in a mini-skirt. XD

I know it's used a lot in the Atlantic region of Canada, which is mainly all influenced by the UK countries so it makes sense. It's up in the air as to who used it first but the mentality of it's origin seems to be a constant. Anyhow, that answered, "let us never speak of this again" ^.^ hehehe

For the uniform itself, I find it all fits better to the theme. If it's a more prestigious school they'd better have an insignia and most should wear a barret, for example. If it's a normal school then short skirts are far more likely, with long skirts for a winter uniform.

Tho my personal favourites are the more prestigious look, adding dark theighhighs, some sort of cape-like-thing or a jacket/vest and a barret.

My favorite ones be the uniforms in Kashimashi, Kannazuki no Miko, Azumanga Daioh (both summer and winter uniforms), the Spica uniforms in Strawberry Panic, and Shizuru Fujino's uniform (3rd yr) in Mai Hime.
