I did not expect this at all! But I am here for more Red and Rit !
I just hope we get more SoL and romance and less of them trying to shove in ethical issues and an overarching storyline nobody wants to actually properly deal with. That was one of my biggest issues with season one .

Nice! I'm definitely up for seeing more of Ruti...and the rest .
I will agree it is probably for the best for them to not delve too much into the moral quandary of Red and company sitting on their hands when they could easily contribute to the world saving effort. Honestly though, I did really enjoy season 1. The split between Red and Ruti's respective situations made the season really interesting. And I enjoyed the way powers worked in that setting. Individuals having their very lifestyles impacted what the gods of that setting throw onto their shoulders. Really liked Ruti though so will enjoy seeing her side of this. And will see where the plot goes. Throw in some good Red and Rit moments and it should be a nice second season.

I'm happy to hear this, I enjoyed the anime well enough (it was rushed but still decent), just didn't expect them to get a second season. Hopefully this time they won't have to rush through things as much as before, now that the groundwork of the setting has been completed. It'll be fun to see the cast again. The seventh volume will be out in English next week, nice to get this news before I read that.

I wonder if the author perhaps overlooked this angle, given their primary focus in the greater plot was the angle of preordained duty vs free will; Spoiler for possible spoilers from novel:

Of course they really didn't develop or expand much on the Demon Lord plot and the ramifications of Ruti not being the Hero or doing anything, so it was difficult to really put the emotional conflict into context beyond the fact that the audience was more invested in the SoL Romance than the "main plot" which basically took over the end of season. Also they broke a drug dealer out of prison to make drugs and then let him go after he helped them .

It did make conflicted over Red. Since his calling was a great deal more flexible in nature, his own will was highlighted even more since he could do just about anything with it. It did make me wonder about his own morality since he mostly chose early retirement after a very mild push to leave the party by one member of that party . But it did allow the show to unfold in a pretty good way so I mostly really liked the series. Quote:

I really enjoyed this series. This came out shortly after I started getting into two 'slow life' manga that I also enjoyed(Kaiko Sareta Ankoku Heishi and Boukensha na Naritai, both which are getting an anime now (^,^ )!) and really enjoyed the Red/Rit moments and the progression of their relationship. I really could have been satisfied with the ending, despite the Demon Lord component not being expounded upon and Yarandrala popping back up in the end. Red getting Ruti back and Ruti accepting Rit as her brother's wife was pretty much the main contentions I wanted solved, which they did. But hey, if they are going to make more, then I'll certainly will be there for the ride =03.

The real title for this should be: "I willingly abandoned my psychologically broken sister and ignored the world saving effort to japanize a country town with my big tiddy waifu".
No thanks, one season following these scumbags was more than enough for me.

Dude, MC was literarly banished by his dickhead archmage partymember. You can blame hios sister for her questinable decigions (and even they are understandable condiering the price she paid for her powers) but MC bares zero blame for leaving the party and his mission.
